The Establishment’s Scandal Scam Tactics Won’t Work Anymore

Quote
The regime media is circling around Pete Hegseth and Donald Trump’s other outsider appointees to do the bidding of the establishment to make sure the status quo stays safely undisrupted. But this is a new game, and they are running the old playbook.

With Hegseth, it’s alleging a sex scandal that’s no scandal at all. They do it by selectively quoting from a police report that led to zero charges and by ignoring the myriad facts within that would cause most fair-minded individuals to conclude this was a hookup instantly regretted by a horny wife whose husband and kids were just a few hotel rooms away.

The regime media reports, of course, exclude the many exonerating details that recovering lawyer Megyn Kelly in particular has gone over in-depth and which totally exonerate the nominee. They don’t care about the truth; they want to frame him to stop him. But you know what? This kind of smear does not matter anymore to anyone who matters. ...

(A)ll but the weakest Republicans seem to have figured out that the Democrats’ go-to plan is to smear our nominees because they cannot win on the merits. We saw that from Russiagate all the way to the ridiculous criminal cases against Trump that are now in the process of finally falling apart completely.   ...

As with any ‘sources say’ story, you may want to take the latest Washington, D.C. whispers with a grain of salt. With that said, The Wall Street Journal says sources are telling them that President-Elect Donald Trump is considering dropping Pete Hegseth as his nominee for Secretary of Defense and replacing him with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

The New York Post has more.

Trump considers replacing Pete Hegseth with Ron DeSantis as Defense secretary pick: report

https://nypost.com/2024/12/03/us-news/trump-considers-replacing-pete-hegseth-with-ron-desantis-as-defense-secretary-pick-report/?utm_campaign=nypost&utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social

Quote
President-elect Donald Trump is considering replacing Pete Hegseth, his controversial pick to lead the Pentagon, with one-time 2024 rival, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, people familiar with the discussions told The Wall Street Journal Tuesday.

The move comes as Hegseth, a 44-year-old Army veteran and former Fox News personality, faces increasing scrutiny over allegations of sexual misconduct and financial mismanagement.

The defense secretary post requires Senate confirmation and Hegseth faces an increasingly uphill battle to win over GOP members with concerns about his past.

As many as six Senate Republicans have expressed reservations about confirming Hegseth for the top Pentagon role, according to NBC News.

EXCERPT

Not sure why DeSantis would even consider the job since it's effectively a demotion and would short circuit any potential presidential run in 2028 (which is perhaps Trump's intent?).

Trump Jr. likely leaking.  Can't keep his mouth shut.

Or  better yet, Trump himself...he can't help himself and has Maggie Haberman on speed dial.

Case in point--this just dropped 20 minutes ago:

But any song documenting Dan Rather getting the shit beat of him, gets at least 1 star for topical value and enjoyment.

Wow, this is disappointing. If he's backing down from this...

I had this feeling that contrary to what anyone expected, Trump would go "Governator Arnold" his second term and just go completely liberal and toe the mainstream line 100%.

Now they're calling him a drunk, and whatever else they can invent.

NEW - Ten current and former Fox employees say that Pete Hegseth, Trump’s pick for defense secretary, drank in ways that concerned his co-workers. Two of those people said that on more than a dozen occasions during Hegseth’s time as a co-host of “Fox & Friends Weekend,” which began in 2017, they smelled alcohol on him before he went on air.
Three current employees said that his drinking remained a concern up until Trump announced him as his choice to run the Pentagon, at which point Hegseth left Fox.
A Trump transition team spokesperson called the claims "completely unfounded and false."

The New Yorker has a bunch of lurid claims about Pete Hegseth, all anonymously sourced from people at Concerned Veterans for America.

The ONLY person willing to go on the record and risk his reputation, @SeanParnellUSA, says it’s all bogus, that the allegations are “complete fabrications,” and come from disgruntled employees at CVA fired by Hegseth because they weren't doing their jobs.

Another unnamed source, when contacted by the New Yorker, said that any claims he made about Hegseth in the past are false and made up. But then the New Yorker published them anyway!

The Sixth Amendment protects the right to confront one’s accusers at trial for a reason: It’s impossible to respond to or rebut anonymous attacks from unnamed people.

So it’s telling that those are the exact attacks the press is using to smear Hegseth.

Why are US Senators wasting a single moment talking about tabloid innuendo nonsense like this?

Trump considering nominating DeSantis as defense secretary: Report
By

December 3, 2024 11:01 pm
.

President-elect Donald Trump is reportedly considering replacing his defense secretary nomination of Pete Hegseth with Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL).

Citing people familiar with internal discussions, the Wall Street Journal reported that Trump’s team isn’t confident that Hegseth’s nomination will survive further scrutiny. DeSantis was on the shortlist during the first deliberations and is now reportedly one of the top choices.

A person familiar with the matter said that the idea was presented to DeSantis in recent days, though they didn’t disclose his reaction. Notably, Trump and DeSantis jointly attended a memorial service for fallen law enforcement officers in Palm Beach, Florida, on Tuesday.

The decision to pick DeSantis if Hegseth’s nomination falls through hasn’t been solidified yet, however, with other options being presented.

If this story is true, DeSantis would be a fool to take it. Anyone with any sense can see the many carcasses of decent people in Trump's wake, from both Trump's business career and political career. There is no question RDS is the best conservative politician and administrator in the USA right now. He should just continue doing the stand-up job he is doing as Florida governor, and bide his time.  Odds are Trump's luster will have tarnished quite a bit in four years.

Trump has to start flexing, make the Pub Senators vote with the understanding that his future support or lack thereof will be based on it.

What good is having a Pub Senate that doesn't back a Pub POTUS who won with an overwhelming majority?

A few thoughts on the NBC News hit piece on @PeteHegseth
:

1. Is it possible NBC News completely made up the anonymous staffers?
2. Is it possible there are a frightening number of leftists who are employed at Fox and they are salivating at the chance to take down one of the conservative on-air hosts?

Regardless, Republican senators should completely ignore stories that are based on "anonymous sources."

It makes you wonder what kind of people would cloak themselves in anonymity to try and destroy a man? #cowardice

If Mr. DeSantis is wise, he'll say, no deal.
He'll also advise Mr. Trump to support Mr. Hegseth.

DeSantis still has 2 years to finish up as governor.
THEN he'll become available and ready to take an open position in the Trump administration if one arises -- but only with the proviso that he'll be running again for president, which will take up much of 2027 for him...
