Policy?  What leads you to think that?
To me, it just says, "Don't mess with me."

Melania just did something no First Lady has EVER done at extraordinary White House event
Daily Mail/UK, May 19, 2025

In an unusual move, first lady Melania Trump (right) signed the Take It Down Act
alongside President Donald Trump (right) in the Rose Garden on Monday

For a first lady to add her signature is highly unusual - it is the president that signs bills into law - but Melania had championed the legislation and met with lawmakers on Capitol Hill to lobby for it.

I'm glad she championed the bill, and it was lovely that the President asked her to add her signature, but it is not a policy that she created. The bill was introduced 5 months before Trump was re-elected.

Sen. Cruz Leads Colleagues in Unveiling Landmark Bill to Protect Victims of Deepfake Revenge Porn

June 18, 2024
Bipartisan legislation would require social media sites to take down such explicit imagery and make publishing it a federal crime

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senate Commerce Committee Ranking Member Ted Cruz (R-Texas) today introduced the Tools to Address Known Exploitation by Immobilizing Technological Deepfakes on Websites and Networks (TAKE IT DOWN) Act to protect and empower victims of non-consensual intimate image abuse—also known as “revenge pornography.” The bill would criminalize the publication of non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII), including AI-generated NCII (or “deepfake pornography”), and require social media and similar websites to have in place procedures to remove such content upon notification from a victim. The legislation is co-sponsored by Sens. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.), Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.), Ted Budd (R-N.C.), Laphonza Butler (D-Calif.), Todd Young (R-Ind.), Joe Manchin (I-W.Va.), John Hickenlooper (D-Colo.), Bill Cassidy (R-La.) and Martin Heinrich (D-N. Mex.).

Melania's not going to create policy --- that's hard work.   Taking credit where credit isn't due will suffice.

And, "lovely" to co-sign legislation into law without the authority to do so?   We truly are living in interesting times  happy77

I just co-signed with my son so he could buy a car. He could not have bought the car without me. That is not what Melania did. Absent her signature, it was still signed into legislation by President Trump.

I personally don't have a problem with someone else adding another autograph to something they had championed, but reasonable people can disagree.

Either way, this is probably a discussion for a different thread than the one devoted to fashion choices.

Either way, further discussion is not necessary.  We've agreed to disagree.  Thanks @Polly Ticks

Okay.  We are getting real close to Dr. Jills couch prints.  Nip it. Nip it in the bud.

I bet you still have your 1992 sears couch with the same floral motif.  Some floral patterns need to die next to a Kenmore Wash Machine.
