C'mon Joe...you know it was Trump's thugs who rioted and got cops injured and people killed. Stop defending him.
He was not there, did not call for violence.
There were known three letter agency actors on the ground who were seen on video urging entering the Capitol. One of them (Ray Epps) spoke with a guy on the Capitol grounds on video, and even though the conversation could not be heard, that person gathered up the single strand of barrier fence (as in one wire or strand of bailing twine) with the paper signs hanging on it and it disappeared. That was the end of the 'outer perimeter' that no one knew was there. It likely would have been honored, flimsy as it was, had it been left in place. You also don't speak to accounts of seven busloads of ANTIFA people who invaded the gathering at the Capital, supposedly wearing their Trump garb on backwards so they would know each other, and may have been responsible for the damage. That doesn't speak to three letter instigators or agitators planted within the crowd.
The Sueaker of the House is responsible, through the Sargent at Arms for the security of the Capitol, and she (Nancy Pelosi) and the Mayor of DC ordered no National Guard, even though Trump had freed them to be present.
In short the incident was egged on to the degree that one of the Capitol Hill cops was running around looking for more flashbangs, smoke and tear gas to shoot point blank into the crowd.
You want to be so busy hating on Trump you blame him for the egregious misdeeds up to and including the murder of Ashley Babbit and the death by crushing (and severe beating with a baton by a Capitol hill cop) of Roseanne Boyland.
At no time did Trump sanction any violence.
As for many of those charged, for walking like tourists between the velvet ropes, there was no violent action nor intent, and many of them passed Capitol Hill Cops holding the door open for them, which isn't trespassing, but implied invitation to enter.
Be fair.
