What makes me curious is whether the NTs here will consider Vance as Presidential material after this debate.

His bonafide conservative positions, his articulation and bearing in explaining to the American people concerning conservative principles, and the dexterity displayed in going against the Dems and the media shown last night, all show me he would could be a formidable conservative Presidential candidate in 2028, regardless of whether Trump wins or loses.

Or are NTs so rigid that it makes no difference whether he has such a person as his VP and will not vote for Trump/Vance?

After last night, I'd say he is the frontrunner in 2028.  And I am sure RDS and Haley realizes that.

Politico: Vance’s Beard at Debate Could Be Viewed as ‘Conveying Aggression,’ Walz’s Wide Eyes Showed Passion

Sen. JD Vance’s (R-OH) beard at the debate could be viewed — particularly to women — as “conveying aggression,” while Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s (D-MN) wide eyes displayed his passion, a Politico story analyzing the body language cues from Tuesday night’s vice-presidential debate concluded.

Here's the truth...NO woman could get past JD's sparkling blue eyes to even see his beard!

:rolling: I can't argue with that...although I'm reading on the all knowing internet that he uses eyeliner. I don't think so.

On a more serious note, That was probably one of the best debates I've watched in a long time. I enjoyed the fact that they didn't go after each other and talked respectfully. The moderators, as always, need to take a hike.

JD did an excellent job. He came across intelligent, informed and in controll.

From what I've seen, most were impressed with Vance last night... to the extent there was disappointment, it was mainly in his relatively weak stance on the pro-life side. Though my X algorithm, to the extent it feeds me political content, is mainly pro-DeSantis Trump skeptics.

The glaring exception being The Lincoln Project.

As for me... look, I like Vance. I think the very things that make the left so angry about his pro-family positions are exactly what need to be said in this day and age, and the dirty, Dilley-level smears against him only amplify how much that is the case. But the fact remains, he's still number two on the ticket, just like Mike Pence was, and the guy at the top screwed up royally last time to the point where he doesn't deserve to ever be in a position of leadership again. So there's really nothing Vance could say that convince me to vote for the ticket.

While DeSantis is conducting a reverse-Sherman campaign for hurricane relief across the South.

Unfortunately, I don't think EITHER Vance or DeSantis is the frontrunner now.

It's still Trump. And even if somehow Trump wins (and is term-limited) or somehow ends up incapacitated, it will end up being Trump Jr. next in line. It's a ****ing cult, and it has a death grip on the GOP that I think too many people in this country still don't understand. It's a name thing.

Vance and Walz Politely Spar Over Gun Control in VP Debate

Bearing Arms By Cam Edwards October 01, 2024

It took three debates, but we finally got a question (two, actually) on gun control and the Second Amendment. We also got perhaps the strangest statement ever uttered on a vice presidential debate stage, thanks to Tim Walz.

About an hour into the debate, Republican J.D. Vance was asked if he thought holding parents responsible for their children's crimes would help curb school shootings. Question for Vance - would holding parents responsible help curb school shootings?

Vance's answer was perfectly reasonable: it depends on the specific circumstances of the case. Sometimes the answer will be yes, sometimes no.

Vance acknowledged that we need to do better on the issue of gun violence. The question is how do we do it? Vance pointed out that the vast majority of "gun violence" is committed with illegally obtained firearms, which was the perfect opportunity to bring up Kamala Harris's extensive history of attacking lawful gun owners in the name of public safety. Instead, Vance oddly implied that the Biden/Harris administration's open border policies have lead to cartels running guns north into the United States.

Pivoting back to school safety, Trump's running mate said as much as he doesn't like it, there's a need to improve school security. Without hitting any of Harris's proposals specifically, Vance declared that the idea that we can wave a magic wand and take guns out of hands of bad guys isn't feasible.

Walz led off his response by noting that his teenage son witnessed a shooting at a rec center volleyball game, before launching into a staccato word salad that included the back-to-back phrases "I'm a hunter," I own guns", and "the Vice President is too". Then we got this gem:

Disagree.  If Trump wins he vacates the presidency January 20, 2029.  That basically even in the 2028 race makes him lame duck in how the election is influenced.  None of the Trump kids have the experience, or resume's to extract such status.  Especially after you see Vance and RDS with 4 more years of addtional experience.

I believe your thinking here is more paranoic than factual.

Tim Walz on the other hand has eyebrows that need trimming once a week to keep his creeper vibe down.

I would rather Vance be running than Trump... I would also rather Ted Cruz or Roy Moore was running, but for the most part Vance seems a far better candidate than the alternative. Would he just be a "yes man"... probable. Playing the long game.

This clip once again reveals how utterly stupid Harris is.  She thinks the cloud for computing is that white puffy stuff up above us.

And her bragging about wielding power as a DA makes her sound like a sick tyrant.

Just read through this lengthy thread for the debate.

First, let me say I thought the debate between Vance and Walz was congenial.  Perhaps too much so, for if there had been one more I AGREE WITH YOU, or I MOSTLY AGREE WITH YOU, I would have tossed my cookies.  But I did watch the whole thing.

With the very 1st QUESTION TO WALZ, IT WAS BLATANTLY OBVIOUS THAT THE QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS WERE PREARRANGED, CHOREOGRAPHED!!!!  EXACTLY LIKE THE ABC DEBATE!

Bottomline, Vance was excellent.  Walz was looking like someone attached electrodes to his testicles the whole night and was about to throw the switch.  And he lied, and lied some more.

And the one lie that irked me the most was when he said, 'Trump only built 2%  of the wall on the southern border'.  That frosted me huge.  Trump did not complete the wall, but the percent complete was a much larger number than what Walz uttered.  And I have not heard one talking head mention this huge lie!

I am certain the Democommies will spin what they can, but I believe two things for certain emerged from this debate.  Republicans walked away being reassured that Trump's pick as a running mate was a solid pick.  And just the opposite in regard to Harris.  I have known from the moment she was selected that she would select someone dumber than her, and Walz reinforced that belief resoundingly.

If we have an honest election, Trump/Vance win handily.  BUT, and big but, I believe the Democommies will do whatever is necessary to win.  I believe this election will be fixed in the 2AM to 2PM timeframe on the day after Election Day, just like 2020.  And if necessary, they will be more overt than in 2020.

And what will Trump do?  Nothing!  Oh, he will snip about the fixed election, again.  But we already know that the courts will not grant him standing in any lawsuit, the worst being Robert's Supreme Court, which also has one of the biggest dummies in government, a woman that cannot define what a woman is.  Really, one cannot make up this nonsense.

And if Harris becomes POTUS, inflation comes back just like it did in the 70s, higher than ever, interests rates climb to the double digits.  The bad players of the world know the USA is headed by an individual dumber than a box of rocks, and they run rampant.  Today we have two major wars, with Harris as POTUS, we have four major wars.  Our military is so weak right now we have one oil tanker to supply our jets over in the Middle East, and it ran aground, and was severely damaged.  We will NOT be able to wage war with no jet fuel folks!!!  Can't build tankers over night either.  And there are other ships with serious mechanical problems.  This stuff does not make the nightly news.

Our military is falling apart and our enemies know it.  Can you see Harris leading our military?

I say the media polls are artificially elevated for the benefit of Harris for the steal come November.  To make it look real.  I hope I am wrong.  But I have had a bad feeling for 6-12 months now.  And with over 1,000 political prisoners from 2020 cooling their heels in prison, I do not see any large demonstration/uprising/insurrection forming either.

With 4-8 years of Harris, I see the end of this nation.  Never thought in a million years I would say that, but I can see it.  With over 1 million Chinese nationals roaming about our lands, how hard would it be for them to seize our country on a Sunday morning at 7AM?  We are allowing Chinese nationals, men of military age to cross our borders in the thousands each month, and releasing them into the country with no idea where they are, along with military age men from a dozen nations NOT friendly to the USA.

Back to the debate, only criticism I have in regard to Vance would be his tie.  I watched the debate on TV and did not notice until seeing the close up photo in this thread that his tie was on the PINKISH side.  Sorry, but I think that was a poor choice.

And last but not least, the TURDS AT CBS.  THIS DEBATE SHOULD MARK THE END, YES THE END OF DEBATES ON MAINSTREAM MEDIA.  THEY SIMPLY CANNOT BE TRUSTED.  REPUBLICANS MOVING FORWARD SHOULD ONLY AGREE TO DEBATES ON FOX NEWS, NEWSMAX, ONE AMERICA NEWS NETWORK, OR THE FIRST NETWORK.  OTHERWISE TELL DEMOCOMMIES TO GO F*** THEMSELVES!!!!
