I read something today that is more concerning than "FEMA funds."  Apparently, Biden-Harris shipped a bunch of electrical stuff like transformers and switch stations to Ukraine for rebuilding, and now there is no inventory to rebuild the downed electrical infrastructure because of Helene.

Did anyone pick up on the Cackler's comment that FEMA was going house to housee for assistance?

Hell, I've been through about 10 of these, and that has never happened.  If anything, they were crusing around in new Escalades, and would speed off if a citizen approached their truck.

Lying during a national catastrophe on scene is about as low as you can go.

I can attest that I too have been through several hurricanes and FEMA has NEVER gone house to house for assistance.  NEVER!!  The situation is actually the opposite; you have to find a way to apply for FEMA assistance.  Without any communication services, good luck with that.

To be fair I can attest that in '04 after Charley, FEMA did have sites set up where you could apply for assistance.  Door to door?  Very doubtful.

Kamala is on the ground in Georgia two days after President Trump’s visit to offer those who’ve lost everything $750. Don’t spend it all at once.

Excerpt from the article:
In a shocking twist to rescue efforts in flood-ravaged Lake Lure, North Carolina, a local fire chief allegedly threatened to arrest a heroic pilot saving Hurricane Helene victims. The unbelievable moment was captured in a video interview with the rescuers by a local news station, sparking outrage and disbelief across social media.

Seidhom, a seasoned pilot with over 1,400 flight hours and a law enforcement background, had been using his privately owned helicopter to rescue stranded flood victims. Many areas in Lake Lure are only accessible by air, and desperate families waved him down for help. Seidhom, alongside his high school junior son, made multiple rescues, including a couple trapped without food or water and two women stranded in an Airbnb.

However, when Seidhom returned to continue his rescue mission, the Lake Lure fire chief reportedly halted his efforts, accusing him of “interfering” with their operations and threatening arrest. The fire chief’s shocking decision left Seidhom’s son and another flood victim stranded on the mountain, as Seidhom was barred from returning.

Volunteers threatened with arrest?

What has this country come to?

Maybe somebody can get to the bottom of this and get some accountability.

As I posted in another thread -- Lake Lure is heavily conservative -- perhaps it has nothing to do with anything -- but perhaps this is being done for political reasons.

I thought about that as well, but perhaps the threat was made, not that he himself was going to arrest them.

In the days ahead it is likely there may be all kinds of stories and accusations made for political gain.

I read the article on a huge well know clickbate sight.  Lots of ads, repeated lines.  Not buying it at all.

Gov. Cooper seems to be a bit of a nitwit. Maybe we should thank Biden for bankrupting FEMA.

@Mashburn4NC
Just was informed by a person in the water service industry that a supply company willing to donate pipe for repairs, to expedite city/county water being restored-- WAS TOLD NO by federal agencies (assuming it was FEMA) on the ground.
It's not just the damage and fatalities we are facing, we are literally fighting the feds for survival in Western NC.  Sure would be nice if we had a governor that would fight for the citizens, instead of only showing up for photo ops.

A church near me is collecting items like food and water, which they plan to drive down to TN or NC. I suspect they won't be permitted anywhere near the affected areas - not so much that the truckload will be seized; they just won't be permitted to enter. I hope not.

Filmmaker Robby Starbuck says he's investigated, and the story about TEMA seizing donated supplies is not true.

Republican congresswoman's husband stranded in North Carolina as Helene damage brings 'tremendous challenge'
Foxx says the devastation in North Carolina is 'hard to understand'
By Anders Hagstrom , Ashley Papa Fox News
Published October 3, 2024 8:31am EDT

Rep. Virginia Foxx, R-N.C., says her husband is one of the thousands of Americans who are stranded inside their homes without power and other essentials in the wake of Hurricane Helene.

Foxx said she first returned to her district in North Carolina on Friday and has been shocked by the devastation. She said her home's driveway was washed away, leaving her husband no way to leave.

"I've been working day and night trying to help constituents solve the problems that they're facing. It is really hard to understand the devastation that's occurred here, unless one drives around and sees it, which I have done," Foxx told Fox News Digital.

"The amount of rain that came down, and what it did to rivers and streams and little creeks, is just hard truly to imagine, but I have seen it firsthand," she added.
