The suspect accused of trying to assassinate Donald Trump at his Florida golf course wrote a chilling note months earlier declaring he intended to kill the former president, the Justice Department said Monday.

Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, allegedly dropped the note — addressed “To the World” — off in a box at an unnamed person’s home in the months before the foiled assassination attempt at the West Palm Beach golf course on Sept. 15, federal prosecutors said in a court filing.


The note Routh allegedly wrote wrote note indicating he intended to kill Trump. SOUTHERN DISTRICT OF FLORIDA

“This was an assassination attempt on Donald Trump but I failed you,” the letter read.

“I tried my best and gave it all the gumption I could muster. It is up to you now to finish the job; and I will offer $150,000 to whomever can complete the job.”

The handwritten note was only discovered after the person opened the box and alerted authorities in the wake of Routh’s arrest, prosecutors said.

How is it that Nashville trans shooter targeting the Christian school murdering 3 children and 3 adults, has material sealed by the court due to 'concerns for its impact on the community' and 'copyright.' But a letter from attempted Trump assassin  encouraging other people to murder Trump w an added bounty, is not placed under seal, allowing it to be released to the public?

From the beginning, it is now impossible to suggest that all of the violence aimed at President Trump is somehow just coincidental, or because people are sloppy, or as one report is that they've become complacent. We are dealing now with a cancerous bureaucracy, encouraged by the lackadaisical attitude of both Biden and Harris, behaving they have permission to perpetuate violence against Trump with the end being his murder.

It is also clear, that we as American citizens and voters, are the only mechanism that can stop this madness. If Trump does not win this election the people doing these things will consider it a stamp of approval and not only will it not end this persecution and violence against political opponents, it will expand confirming the destruction of the country.

So, in partial answer to the, How did he know?" question, it seems likely that Routh did not. He had been planning this for months, including scouting out the area. As I've posted before, anyone capable of using GoogMaps could find where roadside boundary fences come close to holes on the course. Driving by a few times on the three roads that border the course would suffice to pick out a spot that was close and had concealment. That he had been lying in wait for ~12 hours is not very consistent with advance knowledge and consistent with someone willing to lie in wait as long and as often as suited his purpose.

That the Secret Service had known of the vulnerabilities along the fences but did nothing meaningfully responsive is still a huge WTH.

That the Secret Service only swept a hole ahead of Trump on the day Routh was found and caught is another huge WTH.

EXCLUSIVE - Former Attorney General William Barr says he is "dumbfounded" that the Justice Department released a chilling letter penned by would-be assassin Ryan Wesley Routh on Monday, calling the decision "rash" and serving no purpose "other than to risk inciting further violence."

Routh is the suspect in former President Donald Trump's second foiled assassination attempt. The DOJ obtained the letter from a witness who says they received it inside a box delivered to them by Routh several months prior to the assassination attempt.

The box contained several handwritten letters as well as ammunition, among other things. One of the letters, addressed "Dear World," admitted to an assassination attempt on Trump. He also offered money to anyone willing to finish the job.

"I was dumbfounded that the DOJ made public this morning the contents of the letter that, Ryan Routh, left with an acquaintance prior to the attempted assassination of former President Trump," Barr said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

Red wave got one thing wrong. The rifle is an SKS, not an AK. Very different rifle, and the SKS was never full auto. While there are some detachable magazine SKS rifles, it's kind of a pain to swap out the mags, which are relatively cumbersome compared to the AK magazine. Most had a 10 round magazine, not detachable, fed with a stripper clip.
