Is it known that Routh knew Trump was going to play golf that day? Consider this alternative:

1. Routh knew from news and the Trump-Hating commentariat that Trump usually played golf whenever he was at MaL;

2. Routh knew from the news that Trump would be at MaL that weekend;

3. Routh knew from Google Maps and Satellite View where he could lie in wait, plus or minus driving by to scout it out from ground level;

4. Routh decided to lie in wait during daylight hours for as many days as it would take to get a shooting opportunity (was Routh there the previous day?);

5. Routh almost got his opportunity, after lying in wait some 12 hours.

Re my point 3 above, the Secret Service has known about the security risk of that publicly accessible fence line and bushes for years, probably since 2016. Whether laziness or complacency, the Secret Service didn't patrol the the fence line before Trump went out, nor did they check it with a thermal camera.

You’re correct, I see no reason to think this is some conspiracy.  There MIGHT be a leak, but ther can just as well be a good chance that he could catch Trump in a good spot.

I suspect that this was not a 'last minute change' but instead an undisclosed and planned event.

It would make sense to do something like this as an undisclosed event for security reasons. Yet the question remains as to how Routh knew about it.

It only had to be mentioned the night before for the parts to fall, however rapidly into place. Which means the shooter had to be 'on call', and someone called him. Backtrack the cell phones and see just who dropped the dime, just in case a burner wasn't involved. Geolocate them as well and see who might have met in person.

A nurse revealed Tuesday details about the violent tendencies of Ryan Wesley Routh, who is accused of plotting to assassinate former President Donald Trump on Sunday at the Trump National Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Chelsea Walsh engaged in humanitarian efforts in Ukraine when she met Routh, according to Fox 29, a Florida-based outlet. During an appearance on Jesse Watters’ “Primetime,” Walsh claimed she noticed his volatile tendencies and felt professionally obligated to report him, as she is a trained mandated reporter skilled in identifying threats.

Martin County Sheriff Will Snyder suggested there may be an “ominous” wider “conspiracy” at play regarding yesterday’s suspect in the attempted assassination of Trump given that the gunman appeared to know Trump’s private schedule.

Ryan Wesley Routh appeared to know that Trump was playing golf at a Florida resort despite this not being public knowledge and the decision to play being last minute.

“To my knowledge does he have any ties to Martin County? The answer is no…I think what we’re finding out is he’s not from this area, which of course raises the bigger question is how does a guy from not here get all the way to Trump International, realize that the former president of the United States is golfing and is able to get a rifle in that vicinity,” commented Snyder.

“Is this guy part of a conspiracy? Is he a lone gunman? If he’s a lone gunman, President Trump is that much safer because we have him. But if he’s part of a conspiracy then this whole thing really takes on a very ominous tone,” added the Sheriff.

UPDATE: Apparently the explosives found at the Trump rally were being used to help
train a bomb sniffing dog and are not a threat

Nassau County Police Commissioner says:

“Reports of explosives being found at the site are unfounded. There is a person who is being questioned who may have been training a bomb detection dog near the site," said Commissioner of Police Patrick Ryder.

I disagree. If he was actually there for 12 hours, then I think it was unlikely that he was tipped off. If he was there for 12 hours, I think it more likely that he saw it was a nice day, thought that Trump may decide to go golfing, went to the golf course and set up his spot to wait and see if Trump showed up.

If he had set up his spot an hour or so before Trump would get to that hole, then I would suspect he was tipped off. If he was waiting a long time, then I think it more likely he was just taking a chance.

I was thinking that also. For all we know, he may have been going to the golf course regularly on the weekends, trying to find his opportunity.
