If I have to say any kind words about Trump he has to earn my respect. I lost respect for Trump when he tried to override a CONSTITUTIONAL NORM that has been in place for over 200 years cause he couldn't accept the fact that he lost.
I find little to respect in the man. My opinion of him was low to non-existent prior to his political career, with no real reason for that opinion to improve - In fact, I probably like him less than before he was on my radar.
I find him to be overly dramatic on purpose for no reason - In a William Shatner sort of way. I recognize that as an artifice of acting (or the con), but it rubs me wrong.
I find his 'solutions' to be short sighted and transient.
I find his 'my way or the highway' style to be divisive.
I find his alignment to be toward liberalism and big government.
He offends libertarianism and fiscal conservatism - And that so very stark and so very deeply that any other use he might have is made pale.
I tire of drama for drama's sake.
I tire of sacrificing conservative principles for small, temporary gains.
What then am I supposed to respect in that?
I don't care about the drama that gets everybody hepped up.
None of it. I am sorry that he was almost assassinated - but that does not change anything. He still stands where he stands. And that includes all the rest of his martyr shtick.
It means nothing. He is what he is. He stands where he stands - And that according to the record, not all the bullshit.
And that necessitates my opposition.
Simple as that. No one defends him by the numbers, because no one can. He is defended because of all the drama, not his record. And I am utterly immune to the drama show.
