Chevron overturned

Headline only.
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

This is Yuge.  Liberal heads in DC will explode like a ripe melon.

Great news!

There's more!

City of Grants Pass v. Johnson, the court rules that “camping ban” laws restricting the homeless from sleeping on public property do not constitute “cruel and unusual punishment” and are therefore not prohibited by the Eighth Amendment.
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

The court overrules its 1984 decision in Chevron v. Natural Resources Defense Council, which held that courts should defer to an agency’s reasonable interpretation of an ambiguous statute. In Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo, the court rules 6-3 that courts may not defer to an agency interpretation of the law simply because a statute is ambiguous.

And now an opinion from one who was thick in the middle of this regulatory/activist war, ......   about 40 years too late.   The EPA is full of enviro-whackos who will cling to their powers like Charlton Heston with his trusty rifle.

The damage is done.  40 years of precedence will never be un-done.

Supreme Court overturns Chevron decision, curtailing federal agencies' power in major shift

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/supreme-court-chevron-deference-power-of-federal-agencies/

Quote
Washington — The Supreme Court on Friday overturned a landmark 40-year-old decision that gave federal agencies broad regulatory power, upending their authority to issue regulations unless Congress has spoken clearly.

The court split along ideological lines in the dispute, with Chief Justice John Roberts writing for the conservative majority. Justices Elena Kagan, Sonia Sotomayor and Ketanji Brown Jackson were in dissent. Kagan read portions of her dissent from the bench.

Sadly predictable. The Prog 3's seeming-blind-faith in bureaucrats to not be activists, acting on personal pique, or corrupt is amazing, though not entirely surprising.

If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

I think the tide is turning on the enviro-whacko faction and their agenda.  Roberts is the pivot point now whether there are hills the libs want to die on now.   The greeen agenda is slowly getting thrown under the bus.

Huge win for J6 protestors who were given felonies under a statute that didn’t apply to them

It is pretty strange that for the left big business is bad while big government is good. Generally, big anything turns bad. And I'll take the ones without the fines, guns and prisons to force me to comply with them...

When the Clean Air Act was reauthorized back in '90, the EPA imposed potential prison time for recordkeeping violations.  And folks like Plant Managers and we Environmental Managers lived in a state of paranoia of what could happen in a rogue EPA agent decided to take a personal vendetta.

It got to the point, I was self documenting day to day conversations in response.  I knew of 5 of my colleagues with my exact same job in my company had Nervous Breakdowns. I have long known of the regulators who see the acts of compliance and enforcement as games to toy with their opponents.  Many of I hope burn in hell.

Will today's ruling fix all that?  I doubt it...  but its a start.
