I assume Trump will be the GOP candidate.  If he is, I will hold my breath and vote for him.  Wrecking Ball Joe or his replacement, if it comes to that, they have all gone communist.  And RFK Jr is just as liberal as the hair sniffing pervert.

That said, it was no time at all when I was first disappointed by Trump.  His claiming he was not going to do anything that would bring Hillary Clinton to justice was an injustice.  Had it been you or me with those emails, we would have been indicted and most likely spent the rest of our life in prison, for each email destroyed by her was a felony.  But the Clintons are clearly protected.  I was wondering even then if Trump was really part of the swamp.

BUT HIS MOST INFAMOUS FAILURE WAS INCREASING THE H1-B VISA PROGRAM, WHEN HE PROMISED TO END IT DAY ONE!!!!! That was 5-6 months into his presidency, when he kissed the posterior to the tech oligarchs, who spent probably over $1 billion to see that he lost!  I still have hard feelings about that, because I believed Trump would right that huge wrong to American white collar workers.  And of course the wall NOT BEING BUILT, that did not earn any points either.  All empty rhetoric.  Promises kept my *ss!   [and yes, I keep repeating it because Trump keeps claiming promises kept, when the most important promises , he did just the opposite as promised]

So on the down side of life, at 70 years of age, I have come to the UGLY TRUTH that no one elected to Washington will represent the American citizenry.  NO ONE!!!  With the massive invasion of illegal aliens, and THE COUNTING OF ILLEGAL INVADERS IN THE CENSUS THAT DETERMINES HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE VOTED TO THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, it will not be much longer before INVADING ILLEGAL ALIENS become perhaps the single greatest demographic in the USA.

If my calculations are correct, we have roughly 93 members of the House of Representatives that exist because of INVADING ILLEGAL ALIENS.  That is one hell of a lobbying group for the INVADERS, THE DRUG CARTELS, AND EVERY ORGANIZATION LOBBYING IN WASHINGTON.

That does not make one feel represented.  Not in the slightest.

So, what is needed?  A Continental Congress with the intent to update the Constitution.  How does that ever happen other than in the fantasy minds of those that know better?   Only way is the same as a severe alcoholic.  We have to nearly die to realize certain things have to change.  And we are in my mind headed that way.  When will the catastrophe actually happen?  I figure about the same timeframe as last century, somewhere around 2040 to 2050.  I expect billions will die.  What will trigger this dour event?  It could be a score of things.  Bioweapons being unleashed would be high on my list, nuclear weapons being launched by nations bent on destroying one nation or another, with Iran high on the list.

Back to the Continental Congress, does anyone here really believe there exists a 35 year old with the ability to be POTUS in the country?  I don't.

And how long can we continue spending the way we are spending?  It cannot continue for much longer without extreme adverse consequences.

And how many retirees rely primarily on their Social Security for their survival?  The vast majority!  And when they take away 25 - 50 % of what you are receiving in Social Security, will you survive or be forced to go and live with family members, because you no longer can get by marginally?  Or perhaps the next bioweapon released will be more effective at taking out the aged.  Yeah, that's right, a customized designer bioweapon to destroy those no longer contributing productively to society.  I believe that is exactly what the modern day Dr Anthony Mengele Fauci and his Chinese co-conspirators were doing.  Both countries had aging populations.  Let's get rid of them, shall we?

I understand fully now when folks get old, they resolve in their minds that they will not live long enough to worry about what is coming in the future.  And their wisdom tells them it is nothing good.  Heck, with 45% of people under 40 in the USA believing in socialism, 1984 is right around the corner.  The movie Soylent Green, when I saw it in the 80s, I thought it was bizarre and far fetched.  Now, I think it is very likely a realistic outcome for the USA.  That being one of the better outcomes for the future.  If what I think will happen, we will be lucky to have the life portrayed in the movie The Road, perhaps the most gruesome movie I have ever seen.

Back to the now and present, the clowns in NY come back with a guilty determination in Trump's trial, what will that mean when 30-35% of the people that would vote for Trump would vote elsewhere?  Does the GOP keep Trump, or do they throw him out?  And with that, Biden skates to victory without having to fix the election.   Ugggh.  Either way, the American people lose.

@jafo2010

You stated before your disagreement for Donald Trump increasing the H1B visa program. I’m genuinely curious as to why you disagree . At the hospital  I work at, we have doctors that are working here on a visa that are very capable and are helping meet the need for more medical staff.

I too have often wondered if Trump is part of the swamp.  Him mildly going after Hillary but viciously going after Cruz and DeSantis has always put that possibility in the back of my mind.

Says the person who admits he won't vote for Donald Trump because of the two of us.   :pop41:

I'm always looking for a reason to vote for Donald Trump.  It's just that you are never able to come up with one.  But you do come up with plenty of reasons not to.  Just so your ego is clear about that.  It's not you.  It's the content of what you post.

That was pretty clear when he picked Reince Priebus to be his chief-of-staff.

Trump would have to renounce many of his mistakes from his first term and abandoned his Bernie Sanders trade and monetary policy for me to even remotely reconsider

I think some here think that the reason many of us are dissatisfied with Donald Trump being the nominee is because he had mean tweets and the debt went up under his watch.  Coming into office with the debt to GDP ratio over 100% and increasing it further is an issue but it goes way beyond that

Take Covid as an example. It’s not just the shutdown. It was a reflection on how Donald Trump would handle any crisis and that is simply throw  a whole mess of money at it that we can’t really afford to spend and believe he should get credit for it. I know a few landlords when  he placed his eviction moratorium and they got screwed. But Donald Trump figured that there were more renters than landlords to buy votes from

And his tariffs. Naturally, they did exactly many of us warned they would do. So instead of acknowledging his error and changing course, he ended up hurting the economy and farmers especially and bailed them out With the belief that those bail out checks should earn him their votes. Now he wants more if elected. Does anybody really believe that the results will be any different the second time around?

A president should leave office with things better than when they first entered office. That’s not the case with Donald Trump. Trump said that if Biden was elected, we would see a stock market crash like we’ve never seen. The crash actually came on Donald Trump’s watch. It could still happen under Biden. But it hasn’t happened yet.

The so-called swamp drainer actually increased the size and power of the swamp. It was Trump who appointed people like Christopher Ray to Director of the FBI Mark Miley Cyrus to the Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff

Unlike his first term, Donald Trump will not inherit a stable economy with  low inflation. And he’s been all over the map whether he wants a strong dollar or a weak dollar.

He’s also been all over the map on social issues

I think in the short term, the best medicine for this country is  gridlock

We are running $2 trillion deficits under Biden. Normally, that would be low hanging fruit for a challenger. Have you noticed the MAGAdonians don’t even bring it up much, if at all? If Trump wasn’t president once before, I guarantee you, they would be talking about it a lot. But they don’t have credibility on that issue and they know it

1)  Read it back

2)  Have everyone here know tat you are a Democratesque unrepentant liar.

Here you go, @DCPatriot .  I found the post, you lying piece of [redacted].  Here it is:  https://www.gopbriefingroom.com/index.php/topic,526217.msg2991639.html#msg2991639

Yeah, right.

Yesterday, @Bigun wrote an excellent post touting the reasons he was voting for Trump.  Seventeen justifications as to why Trump was getting his vote - all of them positive, inciteful, convincing, and best of all truthful.

After reviewing them, I admitted to myself that his argument was quite admirable and openly applauded his efforts.  I found myself today thinking about those reasons, and was reconsidering my vote. I was coming around, thinking that maybe these positives outweighed the negatives.

And then I read your post.  You can be rest assured that your words have once again driven me about as far away from voting for Trump as I have ever been.  Thank you for restoring my sanity and keeping me from making a huge mistake.

@Hoodat

LOL!  Both @Right_in_Virginia and myself live in your head RENT-FREE!

Have such a power over you...you can't stand it.   You're such a child...somebody who allows another's personality and posting style to affect for whom you'll cast a vote.

....can't bring myself to vote for President Trump because RIV and DCP are such [fill-in-the blanks]

I get seconds of mirth imagining you in bed staring at the ceiling in rage...heart beating 90+ times a minute because we are rabid "Tumpy Fans"

Sweet dreams....    :seeya:

So first off, I couldn't possibly have deleted evidence of the post since it was cited in your post.  Secondly, it was YOU that came up with that asinine quip about laying in bed at night.  I never said it.  You did.  You made it up.  And then somehow in your pathetic little mind chose to attribute your own vain imaginations to me as if I actually did what your little fantasy suggested.  And lastly, my comment was based on your post, not on your egocentric focus on your personal self and cohort.

Here are YOUR OWN WORDS again:
I get seconds of mirth imagining you in bed staring at the ceiling in rage...heart beating 90+ times a minute because we are rabid "Tumpy Fans"

You are a liar.  And a very pathetic one at that.

Your marriage and your career are not nothing.

Which career did I lose? The only 'career' I have ever had has been as a tinker, and that through several iterations. That is no loss - I still retain exactly those same skills that have always got me by.

As to the marriage, the 'why' would be pertinent - The 'why' that you don't know. It is no loss in the end. I am better off. In fact, it might be considered profit.

But the horse is still better company than you.
