I usually do a Sudoku puzzle every day. I can do the Easy and Medium ones usually in a day... The hard ones can take me two days. *Done while on bathroom breaks only.

@ChemEngrMBA ... pertaining last puzzle... I am gonna guess two... The both men who met going to the town... so two.

If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

Okay all you thinkers, here is a riddle for you:

A prison was overcrowded and the warden decided to free a prisoner.  But he wanted someone to earn their way out.
So he brought in three prisoners to his office and said, "Behind you is a guard with a duffel bag containing five hats.
Three are black, and two are red.  He will put one on each of your heads at random. You will not be able to see the hat
on your own head but you can see the hats on other prisoners. If you can tell me the color of your hat, I will pardon you
immediately.  But you must not guess.  You agree that if you guess and are wrong, you will be shot immediately.

All agree.

First prisoner:  I can't tell.
Second prisoner:  I don't know.
Third prisoner who is blind:  I know.

Does he?  Explain.

First prisoner could not have seen two red hats, lest he would know his hat was black.

Second prisoner would then know that either his hat or the third prisoner's hat was black (or both).  If he sees a red hat on the third prisoner, then he knows his hat is black.  Thus, the third prisoner must be wearing a black hat.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

Got it in two.

And the St Ives question: one. Everyone else was on the road, presumably going elsewhere.

Before the last race at Pimlico, Lenny got a tip that the race was fixed and that one of these three horses would be the winner:

Greaser at 2:1
Joe Mama at 3:1
Fat Boy at 4:1

Assuming that this tip proves to be true, how much would Lenny have to bet on each of the three horses to win in order to guarantee he would come out $39 ahead?

Tennis partners and I got two threes yesterday on Wordle and Wordley.
Incredible!  Any three is amazing and lotsa luck.  Two threes in one day?   Extremely rare.

Back to back threes, yesterday and again today.  We are on a roll - whole wheat.
I did cryptograms daily for years, then cancelled my local paper when it went full Leftist.
Wordle/Wordley have taken the place.

I ask the Good Lord to help me do all I can for others every single day, and this is all I get?

Persian puzzle

Five thieves stole some coconuts one evening.  But none of them trusted the others so unknowingly, each one got up that night in succession and counted all the coconuts, took one fifth for himself and buried them in a secret location, and had one odd coconut left over which he gave to their pet monkey to eat.

What is the fewest number of coconuts they could have stolen?
[It is not a simple answer.]

Please show us your calculations.

NONE of you can answer the riddle.  Well, neither could I.  But I found out the answer is 3,121 coconuts.
Carry out the division by 5 five times and you get one left over every single time.

Wordley in two today, in thirty seconds.  Wordle took five tries.

Since I started playing Wordle and later on, Wordley, I have accumulated 219 THREES and 48 TWOS as of today.
Previous entry above was #47 in TWO.  Pure luck. Today's was much easier due to lucky first word, and Wordley showing double letters.

Here is today's WORDLEY:
