@GtHawk

LOL!  I thought the GRAY MAN was terrific.

However, my 54 year old son in Florida texted me laughing in stitches after I told him to watch it...because he said it was totally unbelievable!

I'm smitten with Ana de Armas anyway, but the biggest flaw in the movie was merely putting the sadistic "Captain America" hitman to sleep with a dart and running away instead of putting two behind his ear to fight another day.

My son laughed when she drove the red sports car chasing the trolley train only to have him escape the assassins and jump on the hood of the car and simply SMILE.

He's married to Eva Mendez, you know!!
So who cares if it was unbelievable :silly: I watched it for escapism, I have way to much reality in my life  **nononono*

Last memorable drama I watched? Severance. Not sure if there's a season 2 yet.

A coincidence that I started watching "Designated Survivor" the day before Donald Sutherland died.

I remember the annoying fact that Kiefer Sutherland "whispered" his complete dialogue throughout the series of episodes.

But the startling thing is that if they took what's going on with our Federal Government and Intelligence Agencies today, they could produce an award-winning show.

It would put Season 1's antagonists/terrorists to shame with the crap we're witnessing today.

I just finished watching the LOTR trilogy that I haven't seen in many years.

For the time, the special affects are really good. Also, a good job of tying a very long and complicated story together.

Although I've read the books numerous times...I think I'll go back and reread.

My favorite movie series (by far!) as well as favorite books. You chose wisely.  happy77

Hubby and I saw the new Costner movie today. It was a long 3 hours. I’m going to think it over before I give any recommendation. On first thought, I’d say wait for it to stream.

A couple of my friends went to see it yesterday @deb . They really weren't impressed. They said it was disjointed with too many story lines that didn't have a strong impression.

Just listening to their review, it sounds like it should have been a tv series instead of a movie.

That’s exactly how I felt - it was disjointed. So much so that I truly didn’t care for any of the characters or their plot lines. I wish he’d made it a TV series. Could have done more character development.
The scenery was beautiful.

It would help if you told us what the name of the new "costner" movie is...

Last night watched:
Old "Outer Limits" episode: "Tourist Attraction".

Tonight:
Probably an old Gabby Hayes show, followed up with a first-season "Twilight Zone" episode.

Watched Hitchcock's first color film "Rope" today for the fifth time or so. The 1948 film was controversial because, although it is never mentioned, homosexuality is strongly implied between two of the main characters played by John Dall and Farley Granger. The movie was actually banned in several cities because of the implied homosexuality.....which, again, is never mentioned.
It has Jimmy Stewart in it as well, although he doesn't appear until far into the movie. Stewart plays a college professor who becomes suspicious of foul play because a dinner guest doesn't show up for a dinner party.
The flick is actually a murder mystery with strong performances by Stewart and Dall.
The funny thing is Stewart thought he was miscast to play a college professor but does an excellent job in my opinion.

It's crappy movie day here at Command Central...

And I picked an extra-crappy one...

"The Huntress" on Prime.

Unless it changes substantially in the second half: Do not watch.

Prime use to have "Alfred Hitchcock presents" for free- now it is behind a paywall. Boo!

I did see a few old Hitchcock movies for free- I know I saw the Birds, and Rear Window.

I ended up watching a couple of old Agatha Christies from the 70 and 80s- Murder on the Orient Express, Evil  Under the Sun and Death on the Nile.

Amazed how many A list actors from that time were in them.

I saw a review on the TV news - it was meh. The reviewer said pretty much what you said. Just imagine three more of these 3-hour movies!

If you've got Roku, you can get AHP on Peacock, Tubi, and some other channel with commercials.

For a while I was watching the Podcast of the Lotus Eaters' livestream coverage of the election results in the U.K. A little scuffed but fun:

The wife and I are now watching season 3 of Clarkson's Farm. It is just as funny and interesting as the first two seasons and fortunately is now being filmed for a fourth season. What is interesting is the maze of rules and regulations Clarkson has to go through to get things done on his farm.

We were fans since its release.  Season 1 still is signiificantly superior (Just my opinion) and funnier than 2/3.   I love how he  belittles the beauracracy in trying to operate a business in socialist UK.    I wonder how he is going deal Season 4 with the new Labour government.
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

The back and forth between Clarkson and Kaleb has to be the funniest parts of the programs. In the first episode of season 3 Clarkson tells Kaleb that he is making him manager of half the farm's enterprises. Kaleb then tells Clarkson that he's fired. Clarkson responds by telling Kaleb that he can't fire him because he owns the whole farm. Kaleb is only slightly dismayed.
