Just a thought...

I've encountered gas station pumps that IMO, aren't calibrated properly.  Call it "spinning".

Because I have a 16 gallon tank and sometimes when I fill it up when it's near empty in the red zone on the gauge, the pump reads over 17 gallons.

Cheating each fill-up a gallon of fuel...when hundreds of vehicles per day follow suit, we're taking serious $$$

Thinking the same thing is easier on EV cars.  Plus, while your car is plugged in the drivers are usually inside the building buying fried chicken (Royal Farms) or something.

We have had a few cracking hail storms up this way over the years, and I have never known one to shut down an oil drilling rig for more than the duration of the storm, and producing wells just keep going. I noticed that land is fairly flat, and have to wonder if it was good cropland for grain or hay.

IIRC the land around there was once rice fields and pasture.

IOW, food growing capability is being sacrificed for highly vulnerable (and questionable) 'energy infrastructure', when the environmental footprint of some more reliable energy forms is considerably smaller.

Thanks, @Bigun. Seems like we're always having to swim against the tide. It's one thing to defeat the Dems, but it's downright sinister to have to run against the media and against disgruntled Republicans who threaten to take their ball and go home. Whatever victories we get should be celebrated to the max because they were hard fought.

I actually do consider it to be worse. I don't remember ever taking so much "friendly fire." It's almost as visceral as those from the other party.

That's been around a long time, too.  McCain was in office for most of my political life, and he hated voters like me/us the whole time.  He never used the bile he heaped on conservatives against Democrats.
