Institutional racism is apparently rife at Davidson College. The small, liberal arts school in North
Carolina may be most famous for being the alma mater of NBA superstar Steph Curry.
But after Friday's news, it's possible the school becomes famous for a much less positive reason.
The College Fix broke a very concerning story about the school's athletic department, in which all
the student-athletes at Davidson were forced to watch a racist video. The video claims, among other
things, that all white people are racist and that minorities cannot be racist.
The school forced students to watch "I’m Not Racist… Am I?" on a Sunday, outside of school hours,
so they could hear lines like: "We would also say that it’s only white people that could be racist, that
are racist, and that people of color cannot be."
Makes sense.
The video goes on to redefine racism in the most absurd terms possible.
"Let me tell you what he’s not saying on the second part," another participant says. "He’s not saying
that people of color can’t be bigots, can’t express racial prejudice, can’t try to engage in acts of
discrimination against white people, can’t do real, real stupid things filled with hate. We’re saying that
collectively, blacks, Latinos, and other groups do not have the power to collectively oppress white people
through the use of our systems."
So minority groups can commit racism, but it's not racism, because the racist creators of the video don't
want it to be.
@Slide Rule So minority groups can commit racism, but it's not racism, because the racist creators of the video don't
want it to be.What *I* get out of that is that minority groups can't be racist because they don't have the power to be racist, and they WANT that power, while condemning white people being racist at the same time.
Deep thinking is obviously NOT a part of their curriculum.
More important, neither is equality. What does THAT say about their "right to bitch about racism"?
What *I* get out of that is they are demanding the right to take cheap shots at non-blacks,and not be held responsible for them BECAUSE THEY ARE BLACK.
Yet,these SAME people are demanding they be treated as equals.
They can't have it both ways.
