Songwriter-producer Jerry Fuller (not me) dies at 85

Among the hits Fuller wrote in the late 1950s into the mid-1960s that became hits were "Travelin' Man" (among others) for Ricky Nelson, "Young Girl" for Gary Puckett and the Union Gap, "Lies" for the Knickerbockers, "Arizona" by Mark Lindsay, and "Show and Tell," which became a hit for Al Wilson in the 1970s.

Don't recognize the name but know the songs. People who were young adults when I was growing up are dying off, sadly. Movies and TV shows have the odd effect, with me at least, of freezing people in time. My mental picture of ________ is how (s)he was in their hit show or movie.

Because I'm a huge Glen Campbell fan, I found out about him when I learned about a doo-wop quartet called The Trophies that consisted of Jerry Fuller, Glen Campbell, Ricky Nelson and Dave Burgess. My understanding is that they featured a different member on each record. I don't know if they held concerts. Jerry Fuller co-wrote this one that featured Glen:

Mayall was to British blues guitarists what Leo Castelli was to New York painters; his group was the blue-chip gallery you wanted to show your work in. Other future rock stars who were Mayall alumni: Mick Fleetwood and John McVie, later of Fleetwood Mac, and the well-traveled drummer Aynsley Dunbar. In these Bluesbreakers incarnations, and in many more that would follow, Mayall moved between guitar and keyboards, with spotlight moments to demonstrate his prowess on harmonica. In the Music world that is "Breaking Blues".  Didn't think he was 90.  Time is flying by.
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

Dr. Ruth Westheimer created her own career and niche business when sex therapy discussions in public were a taboo subject. Erica Ash dead at 46: Scary Movie actress and Mad TV star passes away after a long battle with cancer
