Joseph S. Bonsall (76) of Hendersonville, Tennessee passed on to Glory on July 9, 2024, from complications of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. He leaves behind his precious wife, Mary Ann, daughters Jennifer and Sabrina, granddaughter Breanne, grandson Luke, two great grandsons, Chance and Grey, and a sister, Nancy. He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph S. Bonsall Sr. and Lillie Bonsall.

As a 50-year member of the American music group The Oak Ridge Boys, Joe was a member of the Grand Ole Opry and inducted into the Philadelphia Music Hall of Fame, the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, the Vocal Group Hall of Fame, and the prestigious Country Music Hall of Fame.

The first concert I ever saw was the Oak Ridge Boys.  RIP, glad you're free of ALS.

My mother had a neighbor with ALS. His decline was hard to watch.

Back when Teddy the Snorkel died I was a Mod on a now-defunct discussion site. Along with other Mods we very quickly asked folks to stay classy in discussing his death. Following MSM crap like this, I'm not sure, were I a Mod somewhere, I would do the same. I won't be @#$%%ing on Biden's or Pelosi's or etc.'s grave when their time comes, but I would leave to others to choose their level of class.

Benji Gregory, former child star on the 80s sitcom 'ALF,' dies at 46

PHOENIX -- Former child actor Benji Gregory, who played the young boy on the 1980s television sitcom “ALF,” has died in suburban Phoenix. He was 46.

Gregory, whose legal name was Benjamin Gregory Hertzberg, died on June 13, according to records from the Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner. The cause of his death is pending.

Gregory's sister, Rebecca Pfaffinger, told The New York Times that her brother's body was found in his car in the parking lot of a bank in Peoria, outside Phoenix. He apparently had gone there to deposit some residual checks, she said. His dog Hans also died in the vehicle.

Though "Please Come to Boston" was his biggest solo hit, Loggins was also a prolific songwriter (including CBS's theme for The Masters golf tournament) and had a comeback as Anne Murray's duet partner on "Nobody Does It Like You Do," even as Loggins didn't have a recording contract by then.

Ruth Westheimer, a child survivor of the Holocaust who became known to millions as Dr. Ruth, the perky sex therapist whose frankness on her long-running radio and television call-in shows made her a go-to guide for tips on the art and science of lovemaking, died July 12 at her home in Manhattan. She was 96.

The death was confirmed by Pierre Lehu, a publicist and her co-author on several books, but no cause was noted.

Described as the first superstar sex therapist, Dr. Westheimer was over 50 when she debuted in 1980 on New York’s WYNY with “Sexually Speaking.” The radio program initially aired in 15-minute installments and was later syndicated and extended to two hours to accommodate the onslaught of queries she received from callers. More than a few listeners professed that she had saved their marriages.

That makes me sad.  People loved to make fun of him, but there is no question that he was a voice of compassion to obese people who needed help.  He didn’t make fun of their struggles, but rather reached out to meet them where they were. 

Also, even as a fit 20-something, those Oldies videos were just kind of fun.
