Blinken to visit Israel on Friday, says ‘revitalized’ PA should govern Gaza after war

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Tuesday that a “revitalized” Palestinian Authority should retake control of Gaza if Israel succeeds in its goal of toppling Hamas, but that regional partners and international agencies could play an interim role.

The comments by Blinken during testimony before the Senate Appropriations Committee marked the first time the Biden administration has publicly declared its desire for the PA to return to the Gaza Strip, after privately raising the idea with regional partners since the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war.

Hours after the hearing — which included repeated interruptions by several dozen of far-left protesters calling for a ceasefire — an Israeli official confirmed to The Times of Israel that Blinken will arrive in Tel Aviv on Friday for his second visit since the Hamas terror group launched its deadly shock assault over three weeks ago.

“At some point, what would make the most sense would be for an effective and revitalized Palestinian Authority to have governance and ultimately security responsibility for Gaza,” Blinken told the Senate hearing.

Hamas ousted the PA from Gaza in 2007 following bloody fighting, a year after winning a plurality of the vote in Palestinian legislative elections.

A Hamas official has vowed to repeat the horrific terror attacks on Israel earlier this month “again and again” until the country is completely destroyed, insisting it has “no place on our land.”

Ghazi Hamad, a member of the militant group’s decision-making political bureau, warned that Gaza leadership would replicate the coordinated Oct. 7 attack, referred to by the terrorists as Operation al-Aqsa Flood, which killed more than 1,400 Israelis and took some 240 hostages.

“The al-Aqsa Flood is just the first time and there will be a second, a third, a fourth because we have the determination, the resolve and the capabilities to fight,” Hamad said in an Oct. 24 Lebanese television interview republished by British outlets Wednesday.

Hamad said the terrorist organization is willing to “pay a price.”

“We are called a nation of martyrs and are proud to sacrifice martyrs,” Hamad said. “Israel is a country that has no place on our land. We must remove that country because it constitutes a security, military and political catastrophe to the Arab and Islamic nations, and must be finished.”

The brutality and elation of Hamas militants as they killed Israeli civilians — including babies, young children and the elderly — is evident in an Israeli government compilation of videos shown to two dozen journalists in New York on Friday.

The videos, which were aired for the first time outside of Israel, consist mostly of GoPro, cellphone and dashcam footage recorded by the attackers themselves.


Israeli officials said they showed the compilation to President Joe Biden when he visited Israel on October 18th. They also showed it to a group of journalists in Israel, including NBC’s Raf Sanchez, on Wednesday. The atrocities depicted suggest that jihadism has evolved in chilling and perverse new ways.

Hamas appears to have combined the tactics of Hezbollah, the Islamic State, and the Taliban by mounting a large-scale attack that included an estimated 2,000 fighters, rocket salvos, mass hostage-taking, rape, beheadings and livestreaming.

Citizens from at least 41 countries were murdered or taken hostage by Hamas during its Oct. 7 attacks on southern Israel, according to the latest statistics released by the Israeli government.

At least 235 foreign nationals have died and 74 remain missing, Israel stated on Saturday.

Thirty-two American citizens were confirmed dead in the attack. Eleven remain unaccounted for.

“This is our darkest hour. We have to defeat this barbarism. This is a battle between the forces of civilization and … monstrous barbarians who murdered, mutilated, raped, beheaded, burned innocent people, babies, grandmothers,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told his Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni on Saturday evening.

Israel has been forced to use archaeologists to identify the remains of children killed by Palestinian Hamas terrorists on October 7 at Kibbutz Be’eri because so many were burned to death that their bodies are unrecognizable, leaving only bone fragments.

As Breitbart News reported from Kibbutz Be’eri, Hamas terrorists attacked children as well as adults, and murdered whole families in the attack, setting fire to homes in which they took refuge, causing many children to be burned alive.

Most were burned to death, including after enduring severe abuse and dismembering, rendering their remains unrecognizable and bodies unidentifiable.

More than three weeks after the 7/10 massacres, many Be’eri families have still not received the remains of their slaughtered children. As a result, the Israeli Antiquities Authority has been forced to send its experts [to] assist with the identification process. Their experts sift through the rubble to extract their remaining bone fragments and teeth to identify their bodies.

Israel calls on Colombia and Chile to condemn Hamas

The appeal comes after the Latin American countries recalled their ambassadors to Israel for consultations amid the war.

Chile’s President Gabriel Boric cited Israel’s “unacceptable violations of international humanitarian law” for the move, while Colombian President Gustavo Petro accused Israel of committing a “massacre” against Palestinians in Gaza.

In a statement, Israeli foreign ministry spokesman Lior Haiat said, “Israel calls on Colombia and Chile to explicitly condemn the Hamas terrorist organization, which slaughtered and abducted babies, children, women and the elderly.

Bolivia has cut official ties with Israel over the war in Gaza as two other Latin American countries recalled their ambassadors in Tel Aviv for consultations.

Bolivia “decided to break diplomatic relations with the Israeli state in repudiation and condemnation of the aggressive and disproportionate Israeli military offensive taking place in the Gaza Strip,” Deputy Foreign Minister Freddy Mamani said at a press conference on Tuesday night.

 Wednesday, Israel accused Bolivia of “capitulation to terrorism and to the ayatollah regime in Iran”.

In a statement, the foreign ministry also sought to play down Bolivia’s decision, saying “relations between the countries had been devoid of content anyway” since Luis Arce was sworn in as president.

Jordan recalls ambassador from Israel to protest carnage in war with Hamas

Jordan recalled its ambassador to Israel on Wednesday in protest of the “humanitarian catastrophe” in the Gaza Strip and the mounting civilian death toll in Israel’s war against Hamas.

Foreign Minister Ayman Al-Safadi told envoy Rasan al-Majali to return to Amman “as an expression of Jordan’s position of rejection and condemnation of the raging Israeli war on Gaza, which is killing innocent people and causing an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe,” according to a statement released by Jordan’s Foreign Ministry.

Jordan also asked Israel’s Foreign Ministry to tell Ambassador Rogel Rachman, who was temporarily called back to Israel because of security threats in Jordan, not to return to Amman.

According to the statement, “the return of the ambassadors will be linked to Israel stopping its war on Gaza and stopping the humanitarian catastrophe it is causing and all its measures that deprive the Palestinians of their right to food, water, medicine, and their right to live safely and stable on their national soil.”

Hamas, the government of Gaza, spent up to 2 years meticulously planning the October 7 massacre, fully aware of - even seeking - the subsequent IDF response.

Hamas had YEARS to stockpile large quantities of food, water, medicine, and fuel to help Gazans weather the Israeli response. It didn't. Nor did it build any bomb shelters for Gazan civilians.

Saudi Arabia condemns ‘inhumane’ IDF strike on Gaza’s Jabaliya





RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — Saudi Arabia on Wednesday roundly condemned an Israeli airstrike in the Jabaliya refugee camp on Tuesday in which the IDF said they killed the commander of Hamas’s Central Jabaliya Battalion, Ibrahim Biari.

Israel said it had targeted a Hamas tunnel complex under the densely populated Jabaliya camp on Tuesday, killing Biari, who it believes was involved in the terror group’s October 7 attacks, as well as several other terrorists.

Palestinian reports have stated that dozens of people in the area were killed during the strike and AFP witnessed at least 47 bodies being recovered from the scene.

WASHINGTON — President Biden said Wednesday that the terrorist group Hamas has agreed to allow some US citizens to leave the Gaza Strip, as the Israeli military invades and heavily bombs the Palestinian territory.

The White House wouldn’t say how many US citizens are being allowed to leave. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Tuesday that 400 Americans are “stuck” there.

“Today, thanks to American leadership, we secured safe passage for wounded Palestinians and for foreign nationals to exit Gaza,” Biden tweeted as he traveled to Minnesota for an unrelated day trip.

“We expect American citizens to exit today, and we expect to see more depart over the coming days,” Biden wrote. “We won’t let up working to get Americans out of Gaza.”

National Security Council spokesman John Kirby called the development a “significant breakthrough” but declined to provide specific details during a gaggle with reporters on Air Force One.

“I won’t go beyond saying a handful of Americans, that’s as specific as I’m gonna get today,” Kirby said.

“This is a significant breakthrough. It certainly was a focus of the president’s calls with [Egyptian] President [Abdel Fattah el-]Sisi and [Israeli] Prime Minister [Benjamin] Netanyahu on Sunday, where this arrangement was discussed in detail.”

The terror head said that the protection of the Gaza civilian population was the responsibility of the UN and "the occupation" and not Hamas, which has ruled over the Gaza Strip for more than a decade.
