Benjamin Netanyahu has warned of a "tough" and "long" war ahead, after several IDF soldiers were killed while fighting in northern Gaza.
In a video posted to X, the Israeli prime minister spoke of "painful losses".
"The entire nation of Israel embraces you, the families, from the bottom of our hearts," he said, adding that Israel would continue its mission "until victory".

Now, Sky News has seen footage of several ambulances transporting wounded people arriving in Egypt.
The Palestinian General Authority for Crossing and Borders published a list of more than 500 people, including foreign and dual nationals, who would be allowed to leave via the crossing today.
It said "81 seriously injured people [would] be discharged for treatment in hospitals" in Egypt.

It would mark the first time people have been able to leave the besieged enclave through the crossing since the conflict between Hamas and Israel began three weeks ago.
Our correspondent Cordelia Lynch is in Jerusalem and said local media are reporting around 400 to 500 people could try to make it over.
"As we understand it, they are trying to prioritise the critically injured," she said.
"There are some suggestions among local media that around 80 to 90 people will be put first, but we don't yet have confirmation that anyone has been able to make it across."
