I don't know DeWitt.  I am not that conversant in the state party (other than just about everyone I talk to is disgusted with it.....and that goes well before DeWitt took over.

However, whatever state it is in.  Pulling a stunt like this isn't going to help Lake at all.

Former Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake officially launched her campaign Tuesday night for U.S. Senate in Arizona.

“We are living in some dangerous times. The world is on fire. And every day Joe Biden wakes up and pours gasoline on it,” Lake said in her announcement speech.

“The only way to fix our problems is with America First policies. President Trump showed us how to do it. Remember four years ago we had $2 a gallon gas. The border was secure, inflation was non-existent, the economy worked for every American. We were thriving and then Joe Biden stumbles into the White House and he sent us on the kamikaze mission to total destruction,” Lake said.

“The propagandists back there in the media have done absolutely nothing except cheer him on and cheer on the Democrats,” she added.

Lake just won the endorsement of NRSC.  This means they'll likely be funding her.  And it also means they think she wins the primary.

In Arizona, the GOP at the state level is a mess.

However, it is not, I repeat, it is NOT a blue state.

We have the senate, we have the house (but not by much).

Lake lost by 20,000 votes in 2022.  However, there were over 300,000 unreturned Republican Ballots.  If 15% of those had voted (presumably for Lake) she wins.  This is the problem of the GOP.  Everytime they point at the gun, they are looking down the barrel.  And they still pull the freaking trigger. 

You can't make this stuff up.

Right now, polls consistenly show she is off by 7 to 9 points (which will be a wipe out considering how many more registered republicans there are compared to democrats). 

I thought she did a great job in her general election against Hobbs.  She came off as smart and she was certainly well versed in the issues.

But the whole DeWitt-gate and continued claims of stolen elections (which does not bother me....but stay with what made you look good 2 years ago.....PLEASE). 

I realize the only poll that matters takes place in November.  But at five months out, it ain't looking so good.

I will be totally disgusted with the GOP if we lose that seat.

She won the primary, which flips the state blue most likely.  Regaining the senate just became tougher.  The republicans have to pick up 2 seats unless Trump wins.  West Virginia is a given if Jim Justice lives, but Montana is 50/50 and the other swing seats lean democrat.  The republicans would also have to retain competitive seats in Florida and Texas.

She is a Jeckle and Hyde.  During her 2022 primary, she was totally Trump-like.  She tore into her opponent (who I would have supported) and was a moron.  Once she was nominated, her tone changed and she showed she was very up on issues.  I thought she did a great job in the general.  If she had shut up about the election of 2020 (or not sounded like Trump), she would be governor (in spite of any cheating that may have gone on).

She is currently in her "Hyde" phase.  Now that she is nominated, we'll see how she does.

I don't know about Robson being nice.  I DO KNOW Lake was a complete headcase during the primaries. 

I get Lake and her desire, but her approach drives off others who don't like the raucus stupidity.  Shes not winning anyone (and neither is Trump) who isn't "all in".  Presently, I am pissed at Trump over Vance, but that is a different story.  My desires to protect the court have been and continue to be my primary driver.

I have not heard of any issues with this election other than, once again, we can't frigging count votes fast enough.  This is stupid.  Maybe there is news out there, but I have not heard it.

What I do know is that Lake recorded DeWitt and screwed him over.  Like him or not, she was dead wrong on that one.  And she only further lost support.
