Texas police responded to reports of a shooting at Allen Premium Outlets on Saturday afternoon.

Dispatch told FOX 4 Dallas that police were responding to calls about a shooting that reportedly involved multiple people at the Allen, Texas shopping center.

Collin County Sheriff's Office confirmed to Fox News Digital that Allen Police Department are on the scene. The office told FOX 4 that there are "some victims" but the extent of the injuries are not known.

Allen Police Department asked everyone to avoid the area in a statement on Twitter.

Texas officials responded to reports of an "active shooting situation" at Allen Premium Outlets on Saturday afternoon.

Collin County Sheriff's Office confirmed to Fox News Digital that Allen Police Department officers are on the scene. The office told FOX 4 Dallas that there are "some" victims. Local outlet WFAA-TV reported the victims included children, though Fox News has not independently confirmed that.

The ATF Dallas Field Division said on Twitter that it was an "active shooting situation" as of 4:30 p.m. CT.

The sheriff's office told WFAA that the suspected shooter is dead.

Operations Administrator Joshua W. Barnwell told FOX 4 Dallas that he heard at least 30 gunshots and saw around 60 rounds of ammunition on the ground.

A mother who was at the mall with her daughter said she heard popping noises and saw sparks flying.

"We were outside the Converse store and we just heard all this popping," Elaine Penicaro explained to FOX 4. "We kind of all just stopped, and then a second later, just 'Pop, pop, pop, pop, pop,' and there were sparks flying like it was right in front of us."

Nine people, including the suspect, are dead after a shooting Saturday at a Dallas-area outlet mall, authorities said.

Seven people died on scene at Allen Premium Outlets and two more were pronounced dead at a hospital, Allen Fire Department Chief Jonathan Boyd said.


Three people remained in critical condition on Saturday night and four were stabilized, Boyd said.

President Joe Biden has been briefed on the shooting, the White House said in a statement. The White House was “closely monitoring the situation and is in touch with law enforcement and local officials to offer support,” the statement added.

A man who witnessed the outlet mall shooting firsthand Saturday recalled being one of the first people on the scene - rushing to rescue his son from a clothing store where the now-deceased gunman's attack started.

The shooting happened at the Allen Premium Outlets in Allen, a small suburb north of Dallas, and saw at least eight people killed. At least one of those slain, Steven Spainhouer recalled, was a child, whom he desperately tried to save after rushing to the H&M - where his own son had been working.

Shortly before, around 3:30pm Spainhouer received a frantic call from his son notifying him that there had been shots fired outside the shop, with his relative still trapped inside.

Footage shows the moment those first shots rang out, in which the unidentified gunman is seen pulling up the store, which moments later would be littered with multiple bloodied bodies - seen in images currently circulating.

Driving over with the intent to save his child's life, Spainhouer explained how he got there before any first responders - and was faced with the monumental task of trying to save lives.

If the original images can be snagged, they may just contain geolocation information (e.g., gps coordinates) that would reveal the location of the house, and from there, it should be possible to identify the shooter.

Domestic terrorism probed in Texas outlet mall massacre
As authorities work to determine a motive for the outlet mall shooting in Allen, Texas, one avenue investigators are exploring is whether this was an act of domestic terrorism, multiple law enforcement sources told ABC News.

The shooter wore patches or stickers on his clothing that raised suspicion he may have gravitated toward right-wing extremism, the sources said, though they added no motive has yet been established.

Federal agents were seen at a home in the Dallas area believed to be associated with the shooter, ABC Dallas affiliate station WFAA reported.

Federal investigators are already going through the suspect’s electronic devices and social media as they work to understand what led to the killing rampage, the sources said.

In addition to a rifle used in the shooting, sources said investigators recovered additional firearms in a vehicle associated with the shooter.

The Texas Rangers are the lead agency on the case with assistance from the FBI, ATF and Allen police.

“Multiple sources tell me the Allen Outlet mall shooter’s name is Mauricio Garcia,” CBS News reporter JD Miles tweeted. “He was 33. A house that was raided in Dallas overnight was his parents. Sources tell me he was living in a motel. He had no serious criminal record and was working as a security guard.”

According to authorities, the hospitalized victims’ ages ranged from 5 to 61 years old. The shooting was reported to law enforcement officials at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, prompting a response from multiple agencies to the scene.

The motive behind the shooting remains unknown, and authorities have not released any information about the victims’ identities. There is no confirmation about whether Garcia was an illegal immigrant or not.

The Texas mall mass shooter reportedly recorded a bizarre message on his cellphone answering machine – informing his provider that he paid his bill, asking his parents for cash and telling female callers he has “plenty of money.”

Mauricio Garcia, who killed eight people and wounded seven others with an AR-15-style assault rifle at the Allen Premium Outlets in Allen on Saturday, appeared to obsess about money in the message, according to records obtained by Fox News Digital.

“Hi, this is Mauricio. If you’re the phone company I sent you the money, or if you’re my parents please send money,” he says.

“If you are my financial aid institution you didn’t lend me enough money, if you are a friend you owe me money. And if you are a female, don’t worry, I have plenty of money,” the suspected neo-Nazi sympathizer adds, according to the outlet.

The phone number listed in the records goes straight to the odd message. It was unclear when he made the recording.

Meanwhile, it also has emerged that Garcia was kicked out of the US Army in 2008 “due to mental-health concerns,” law enforcement sources briefed on the investigation told ABC News.

Several law enforcement sources told the outlet that investigators also are exploring whether the shooter’s attack was an act of domestic terrorism.

The feds also are probing whether Garcia, whose social media accounts spouted white supremacist views, held neo-Nazi views.

The gunman wore a patch with the acronym “RWDS,” which stands for “Right Wing Death Squad” – a popular phrase among white-supremacy groups, a law enforcement source told The Associated Press.
