I have always had good fortune buying clothing for women. The secret is to understand that anything you buy is not going to be to her tastes, but that is rendered moot if you buy it a few sizes too small... Then she gets to return it without excuses, and she finds your image of her to be flattering... Which is the true gift.  happy77

You are BRILLIANT!
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-

I learned the hard way about buying clothes for your wife almost 40 years ago.  For pretty much the reasons you stated.

"You really think I am a Size "X"?  That scream resonates from that long ago.   Woof Woof....   Call Me Pavlov's pup.

IMO....It's a lose-lose.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

That wouldn't have worked for me. At the time, my ex had a gold amex on hand all the time.
A 'gift card' would have been meaningless. For a friend, a child, a coworker, fine.
If I gave my wife a gift card, she would have been very confused. She world likely regift it to someone else.

All day...this bullshit?

Start a thread on gifts/clothes for women.

WTF are the memes?

@DCPatriot

I'm tired of all this "gifts for women" crap.

When are we going to see women posting "gifts for men"?

I'd like a sidecar for my Harley. Hint,hint.

I read about the making of the show.  The set was close to a highway so most outside shots had to be performed outside of rush hour times.

The picture looks like a set. The beach/ocean does not look like that.

If I could be a parody writer of the show, I'd have a scene where a mysteriously faced volley ball shows up on shore.   Blows up..... spewing volley ball guts all over the cast.

Name of the espisode- Wilson's Revenge.
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

So it was the Ventura Freeway that was nearby...

@DB

Some do in the Tropics.

I'd be willing to bet that photo is of a stage set,though. The trees move back and forth on wheels.
