I can always spot recent AZ transplants.  They wear shorts and t-shirts in the Winter.

I am aiming to find out... Though likely Vegas for the cheap flights.

But I would reckon if I got on a plane in the mid winter (MT acclimatized to winter) and got off down your way, I would still find your winter to be puking hot.

I want to see though - It is on my list... I want to see what two weeks of sun does do me mid winter, and if it would break my hibernation syndrome.

I was down in Houston in 1980 for a well logging school, and wasn't comfortable until the temperature got down to 60 above (It was -32 when I got on the plane in ND). A lady walked into the hotel with her fur coat pulled up around her ears, shivering, lips blue and took one look at me in a nice light shirt and vest and asked me "Aren't you cold?". I just said "No m'am, this is nice weather where I come from." She looked at me like I was from another planet.

At zero,I usually throw the liner in my old M-65 jacket and do fairly well if I'm going to be out for a while.

It rarely gets down to 32F here in the depths of Winter.  It's why I am here and not there.   

ETA:  Let me know when you are coming to Vegas, we can meet you.  I live about an hour's drive from there.

I was down in Houston in 1980 for a well logging school, and wasn't comfortable until the temperature got down to 60 above (It was -32 when I got on the plane in ND). It ain't really the temperature for me... it's the light. Or the lack thereof.
I have been formally diagnosed with SADD (Seasonal Affective Disorder)... But they really can't tell what's going on for real. I will go out for up to 72 hrs at a time, and may be thrown hard to sleep for a couple weeks or more...

Pretty sure I have a reason... I think melatonin pickup does not work well in me. without sun for so long in the winter, no vit D to initiate meletonin pickup, I come fairly close to literal hibernation.

Whatever it is, it is in the sun. When we go damn cold and the clouds freeze and fall to earth, that brilliant sun perks me right up, and I am more alert and functional than I have been since turkey day or so...

It's a thing.

My Castillo is actually a faster drive to Kingman than it is to Bullhead City.  No need for a bedroll here because I have an extra room, and free is cheaper than a Motel 6.

Gracias. Really. But the point is to get out of artificial environs and be in the weather. Like I said, a bedroll and a tarp. I need to be in actual sun, with no glass between it and me... That's where the magic happens... Even here... At thirty below.

The temperature will be quite agreeable, and I get your point about trying more solar photons.  I have huge porches with a nice view of Laughlin's casino row and the Nevada mountains across the river.  And beer on tap in the Bar at Castillo del Cyber.

I don't know about the Arizona desert...but I went to Vegas once in late December. Of course the days were hot, but night time was cooold! We flew in at night and I nearly froze my Texas fanny off. It was a dry cold, lol.
