@berdie

Seems that they have at least one (1) employee eyeballing 4 to 6 machines, so I figure it's a wise investment.

What irks me these days... buying prepared 'fast' food for take out and the card reader prompts you for a 10%, 15%, "20% is better" for tips for the staff.

Who dares not to tip when they're standing there watching you?

I want to have some sense of security when I eat my food.

Irks isn't the word I use. I ran fast food for 22 years and the only time we allowed anyone to accept a tip was for doing a birthday party. I have seen tip jars, cans, cups spring up everywhere where people are already being paid to do minimal and usually half assed work. I don't have a problem tipping a waiter or waitress, even a busboy busting his ass to turn tables over, but for the people that slap my burrito or burger together or shove the bag at me without so much as a thank you or have a nice day? NO!

White House Reassures America That Biden Is Doing Better: Slept Well,

WASHINGTON, D.C. — After a COVID scare last week, administration staff are
reassuring the country that President Biden is on the mend. According to White
House coordinator Dr. Ashish Jha, the President slept well, ate his breakfast,
and had a full diaper this morning.

"Joe is doing very well," said Jha. "He ate all his applesauce, his graham crackers,
and even his carrot sticks! And then he had three really good, healthy bowel
movements. Completely filled his diaper. Then he took it off and showed me how
full it was. And it was full. That's a great sign of a healthy president if I ever saw one!"

At the announcement, the press pool erupted in cheers and tears of joy and relief.

The White House team further explained that if Biden goes to bed on time and takes
all his vitamins and antipsychotics, he should be back on the job very soon.

UPDATE: The President's health has regressed as he didn't get his second nap today.

No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.

Meh, I remember when virtually every new car had fins, when watching a movie at home involved 8mm film and a projector. I sat in the restaurant in a Thrifty Drug Store and put a nickel in the table top jukebox to listen to a song. I rode the electric street cars to go shopping. I remember when Nike was a missile not a shoe. I remember that if I wanted to make a phone call away from home I had to find these things called phone booths which I could make a call from for a nickel. I am not as old as I will be but feel older than I am.

My heart did that but it wasn't because of a falling socket. I was putting new valve stem seals on the heads of my Lincoln and my young son climbed up to see what I was doing.....did you know that there is enough room for for a pushrod to slide all the way into the intake on a 460 if a child pulls it and lets go?

You're more duffery than me... Missed the new cars with tail fins. But when we got up in here, the hot spot in town was the Woolworth's which had a hardwood floor and a counter with stools in the back where you could get a burger, fries, and a malted milk.

I remember BEFORE McDonalds.
I remember BEFORE public phones (when there were two - one at either end of Main Street)
I remember FM radio coming to town.
I remember AM radio before it was talk.

I remember the birth of the muscle car (not the hot rod)
I remember when most trucks weren't 4wd.

So I ain't know spring chicken either

I remember my father (big CWA Union Man) @ 10yo handing me LBJ bumper stickers and telling me go get that Cadillac down the street with the Goldwater stickers.  I did.
