It's hard to believe that Benny Hill died alone and virtually penniless in a tiny walk-up apartment,isn't it?

Unless maybe he went nuts and wanted to live like that.

Well he was alone and it was days after he died that neighbor called someone because of the smell but he sure as heck wasn't penniless.

That's really surprising because most comedians are very outgoing. Not to mention why have all that money and live in a tiny walk-up apartment?

I am guessing he maybe developed mental problems as he aged.

My experience with the professional comics I've met is they are mostly intensely unhappy people.

I agree,but most try to hide it with forced hilarity. It's almost like they are afraid they are going to die unless they can keep people laughing.
