While ridiculous, the trailer has no tags and could be reason for a ticket if towed, but as part of the load on a truck, is legal to drive down the highway.
Not that anyone ever pays any mind to trailer tags. I prolly ought to go look, because I ain't even looked at any of my trailer plates for a decade or more. Didn't even occur to me they might go bad
Sometimes you can get away with 'bad' ones, but it's hard to ignore when they just are not there. I knew one guy who had a bunch of fairly identical trailers which would spend a month or more on site. He had one set of good plates that left with the tow vehicle...
I would do it. Just for no reason. Just to see what happens.
