I suppose there must be SOME reason that I would drive my diesel pu into yankeeland,but I sure can't think of it off-hand.
Can't even understand why yankees like there,other than they don't know any better.
This was a territory, not Yankee land.
Keep in mind a lot of folks here lost their land to blue coated soldiers, too.
As for me, the people here are a lot like the people where I grew up were, when I grew up there.
There is freedom to be found in living some place others might not find appealing, and winter keeps the riff-raff out.
But we get folks from Texas and Oklahoma up here every year it gets cold, and they have a tank of no. 2 that promptly gels up about 20 below. It's a cottage industry, towing semis to some place warm to thaw them out and drain off the jello...change filters, etc.
