Well, Willie wrote this, Patsy made it famous........ and did you know it was one song she didn't want to record beause she didn't like the tempo, Owen Bradley told her to ignore the way Willie wrote it and make it her's....... this was right after the car accident that almost killed her and she was still in pretty bad shape, they laid down the musical portion without her there (only time she ever did this) and then she went into the studio and laid down the vocal in one take and this was the result:

Patsy Cline - Crazy (Original Stereo)

I agree wholeheartedly, Rap.....that nobody sings certain hits better than the initial recording artist.

Even on American Idol, contestants were often chastised for attempting to take on a signature hit.

That said, I've gone back and compared Diana Krall's version with Julie London....and Ms. Krall's is far superior.

Plus, Julie didn't play the piano, did she?

....I'll give you "Crazy".    Patsy Kline owns that.

~LOL~ DC, no Julie London didn't play piano, I do think Michelle Pfeiffer got her routine from The Baker Boys from her, however.

The Cranberries - Dreams

One of old time favorites.

If I had to be stuck on a desert island with music, this would be it.

The percussion is truly amazing...the more you listen, you just shake your head.

I think me and myst are musical soul mates.

In my opinion, there will never be another period in musical history as fine and organic as the 50s and 60s.  Right, myst?
