It was such a simple time -- compared to today, and the music, did we really appreciate it as much then or did it take heavy metal and rap to really give us an appreciation of what we had and have lost.

We are so damned fortunate to have grown into adulthood with The Beatles' music.  And all the early rockers.

I recall watching American Bandstand every afternoon.  I preferred Pat Molittieri over Justine Corelli....but that's me.

Thought ya'll might find this interesting, Holly is one of those artists who died way too soon, he was actually an incredible musician, was the first to insist on doing his own arrangements, because no one else could hear what he heard in his head -- he initially walked from a potential huge contract when he was told no one arranged and produced their own music, he got his way and did his music his way.... the next person I know who did this was Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys.
