New research shows that Patriotic Americans believe that

Nerocrats should be held accountable for "fiddling while their cities burn."

"Chop" was also a misnomer. Much better would be "Lofland" - Lord Of Flies - land

The belief in "Defunding the Police" suggested as a new criterion to demonstrate and demarcate "stupidity" as a legally defined term.

They'd have to resign the whole damn lot of em, right down to the janitor.

By rights they should all be sitting in jail for failure to perform, and outright sedition. How the hell do you put your life on the line for folks like that?
Yep. Clean house.

I agree, not to mention have any sovereign immunity removed and sued by all who lost something.

You don't put your life on the line for people who won't have your back. Simple as that.

@roamer_1

I hadn't even thought about that, but they are going to have a hell of a time hiring new cops unless the entire city council is replaced with sane people, and that does not seem likely to happen.
It is obvious that the people in there will not defend their fair city, and are rapidly turning it into a dump by their inactions and actions. The job descriptions, oaths of office, etc. should be examined, and they should be removed from office by whatever means necessary. Criminal charges and incarceration come to mind, but psychological reasons could well apply. You'd have to be nuts to let things there reach this point and then turn on the very people you restrained from enforcing the law. IMHO, that makes them accessories to every crime committed, and you don't even have to know the actors involved for that, just the crimes.  ROund 'em up, lock them up, and elect a new government. It's the American way.

100% on board with that, as long as the U.S. Taxpayer doesn't have to foot the cost for the rebuild.

The anarchists have been rioting and beating people up in Portland since Trump was elected.  That means the people have had at least one election to replace City Councilmen, and they elected the people permitting this.  Yes, the Municipal Government is deeply implicated, but so are the voters themselves.

I agree, let it burn, and leave the charred ruins to serve as a reminder to others.  The city-wide equivalent of heads on pikes.

And the majority of those rioters are the chill-runs of Yuppies. Spoiled brats who grew up with all the advantages in life there is to be had,and they are just there because they are bored and crave the excitement and the attention.

UPDATE: Sixteen Arrested During Sunday Night Riot (Photo)
August 10, 2020 04:19

  Follow @PortlandPolice
Officers arrested 16 people during the riot that took place in the Kenton Neighborhood. All were booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on the listed charges:  ...

On Sunday, August 9, 2020, commercial grade fireworks were thrown at officers trying to clear an unlawful assembly, including a mortar that injured two officers, and a riot was declared.

At about 8:00p.m., a gathering began in Kenton Park, 2351 North Kilpatrick Street. The group of about 200 people began marching at 9:30p.m. in the direction of the Portland Police Association (PPA) Offices in the 1800 block of North Lombard Street. It is located in a residential neighborhood and was the site of a riot Saturday evening in which individuals broke through a door and started a fire in the building. ...

During the movement, commercial grade fireworks were thrown at officers and at least one injured two officers.  ...

The injured officers were treated at the scene by paramedics. One officer was burned on her neck and her facemask partially melted (see photos). A Sergeant standing about 10 feet away was injured in the leg by a piece of a firework impacting his leg (photos).  ... Full story and photos at Portland Police site

Before the election, the removal has to be done by citizens of the State or others in the State Government or a combination of the two. Otherwise, you know how those optics would be spun: He's a dicatator or He should have done this sooner, why'd he wait so long? (Either way, Trump would be 'wrong' in the MSM)

I"d be all for people in town getting together and marching in on these jerks from two directions and pinning the lot of them against some geographical feature and doing what they need to do to discourage any more such behaviour in their city.  I mean, they have the right to conduct a "peaceful protest", too.

I will take exception. Optics are not his business. His business is his oath. Open and violent sedition in the streets, aided and abetted by mayors, town councils, county sheriffs and government, and even governors - ALL of that is actionable. All of it.

Doing nothing is a travesty.

He hasn't been doing nothing, he did have DHS and other agencies ramp up their presence and make arrests for damage to federal property. That might not be the action you or I would like to see, but it isn't nothing. What he has done is clearly something that can be explained in a way it makes sense, even to the LIVs out there. People, at least in some jurisdictions, have just said "No" to this Antifa crap, and any defiance of that will lead to open and possibly no-holds-barred conflict on that local level. If the locals requested help in those areas, I'm pretty sure it would be there, quick.

From what I have seen of his fans out this way, about all he could set them up with is Kevlar and an ammo drop...

Oregon State Police Pulled out of Portland Completely day after Portland DA drops 500 of 550 riot related charges
8/13/2020
Investigative Journalist Kyle iboshi, KGW (nbc) portland

The Oregon State Police is continually reassessing our resources and the needs of our partner agencies and at this time we are inclined to move those resources back to counties where prosecution of criminal conduct is still a priority.

Last night was our last night in Portland

This decision was based on the fact that our two week commitment ended last night... Troopers are returning to the communities that they are assigned to serve and protect.

We will continually assess our resources if our partners at PPB need OSP assistance

It SEEMS to me it should be possible, and even likely, that someone who gets harmed in the next riots will be able to sue the DA and the City of Portland if they suffer assault or property loss.

What say those of you who know the law? Does that goober get immunity from personal damage suits,or can he take a personal financial and possibly even criminal hit for the civilian version of dereliction of duty?

After all, these SOB's take an oath of office to protect the city and it's residents,NOT the Dim Party and the creatures that run it. If they can't be held personally responsible for their actions, why bother to require an oath?

Not any more, Pete.
The "oath" they take now is to THE PARTY, not to "the people".

And that includes the judges who would preside over lawsuits against the city, etc.

Mr. M used to oversee the armed police force at a much smaller university. This is a big mistake. These college cops can face all kinds of dangerous situations. Now, the most criminal of students will not have any hesitation in carrying and using weapons.

People assault police with projectiles causing injuries - arrests (Photo)

On August 16, 2020 a crowd of people gathered at Laurelhurst Park. At about 9:10 p.m., the crowd of hundreds walked, blocking traffic on city streets, to the Penumbra Kelly Building in the 4700 block of East Burnside Street. As the crowd gathered it blocked all lanes of East Burnside Street from Northeast 47th Avenue to Northeast 50th Avenue.

At about 9:30 p.m., Portland Police gave public address announcements reminding the crowd not to engage in violence, criminal activity or trespass on the Penumbra Kelly Building property. The announcements included warnings that people who commit crimes may be subject to arrest or force, including crowd control munitions, pepper spray and tear gas. The crowd continued blocking the street, chanting and socializing for almost two hours.

Some of the crowd chants included, "kill a cop, save a life", "What do we want? Justice! When do we want it? Now! If we don't get it, burn it down!"

At about 11:17 p.m., officers reported members of the crowd were launching mortars at the police and cars well back in the Penumbra Kelly Building parking lot, followed by thrown objects. People began to trespass on the property. Portland Police gave public address announcements directing people to stay off the property, which was closed to the public. At about 11:35 p.m., people approached the front doors of the Penumbra Kelly Building, trespassing on the property. People in the crowd continually threw large river rocks at officers. Portland Police gave more announcements and force warnings. For the next twenty minutes people in the crowd increased their violent actions toward police officers who were standing behind cars fifty feet or more away from the crowd. Officers reported having rocks, frozen eggs, glass bottles, and frozen water bottles thrown at them. Officers reported people were shining green lasers at them, which is against the law in Oregon. Somebody spray painted over a security camera on the Penumbra Kelly Building.

IMO, the lack of music in the mainstream American life is one of the reasons for the continuance of these violent protests in Portland.

There is no interest in real music or melody today.

I was so lucky.  Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, Bee Gees, Elton John...and on and on.

What great, world renowned musical group exist today who sing their own material?

They don't.

They all loot beats off existing recorded music and layer them, and then recite poetry with a snarl.

At the time of this release over 60 calls for police service were holding around the city. Some had been holding for the length of the events described here. Call types ranged from theft, vandalism, suspicious activity, hazards, hit and run, burglary, violation of restraining order, alarms, stolen cars, harassment and many others.

What attention goes to these tantrums is removed from other police work.

Music soothes the savage beast.  I learnt that from Loony-Tunes.

If it's ok to kill a baby in the womb... Then what respect could be given any other life? Seriously.

Riot declared in Portland
By John Bowden - 08/16/20 12:15 PM EDT

Police in Portland, Ore., declared that a protest outside a law enforcement building Saturday evening had become a riot and made numerous arrests after officers and police vehicles were allegedly hit with rocks and other objects.

A statement on the police bureau's website indicated that further details concerning the number of arrests and charges would come in a later update but noted that several people had been arrested.

"Portland Police announced to the crowd that its conduct constituted a riot and ordered people to leave to the west. People in the crowd persisted in throwing rocks and other objects," officials said. Photos posted by police on Twitter showed a large rock that officers claimed had been thrown by protesters and glass bottles as well as minor damage to a police cruiser.

Should be easy to do.

One thing is these people love to take incriminating videos of assault and destruction so they can be identified.

Black Lives Matter is giving good black people a terrible name.

A quote from the twitter page.

Ok,who here thinks that ISN'T a part of the plan?

The Communists have been recruiting blacks by coming up with every plan they can think of to make blacks dependent on government care, instead of being able to take care of themselves.

The goal from Day One has been to "recruit them" by convincing them they are victims of white suppression, and that they need to take up arms and take over the system so they can "take back what is rightfully theirs".

ANYBODY that thinks the left actually gives a damn about blacks or black lives is a fool. They see blacks as nothing more than cannon fodder to kick off and fight the revolution.

Meanwhile, the vast majority of American blacks are sitting at home with their doors locked and watching this on tv. If anything, they are more afraid than the white people are because the worse this gets, the more blame that will be tied around their necks  because of their skin color.

Guilt by Association.

Best "recruitment tool" EVER!

btw,did anyone else notice that BOTH the guy that kicked this man in the head and the guy that took his arm and encouraged him to run away were BOTH white?

YET,the ENTIRE narrative would lead you to believe it was a black man that did this.

Ifn ah didn't no betta,ah mite suspect this was a part of the communists overall plan to create a race war so they can take over control of the government once the middle-class/clueless white people get fed up and start taking the streets back by shooting every black they see.

Which,of course would lead to a declaration of Martial Law,and the Constitution would be suspended for "the duration of the emergency".

Un,huh.

Black Lives Matter Rioters in Portland Target Passersby in Violent Sunday Night

Black Lives Matter and Antifa rioters in Portland targeted, beat, or robbed multiple passersby, including a trans woman on Sunday evening, according to multiple videos posted to social media.

A young white woman was chased down the street in downtown Portland, crying out, “We didn’t do anything! … . We were just walking down the street and they just started attacking us!” After a man on a scooter showed up, she started running, according to video tweeted by journalist Andy Ngo.
