Pelosi: Minimum guaranteed income may now be 'worthy of attention'

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Monday expressed openness to a minimum guaranteed income to help keep people hit by the coronavirus shutdowns financially afloat.

Pelosi said during an interview on MSNBC that she thinks the financial aid established by the coronavirus relief package enacted into law last month should be extended in some form.

"Well, I think we should extend the time, I really do. I always thought that was too short a time. I think we should extend the time," Pelosi told MSNBC's Stephanie Ruhle.

"Others have suggested a minimum income for — a guaranteed income for people. Is that worthy of attention now? Perhaps so, because there are many more people than just in small business and hired by small business, as important as that is to the vitality of our economy, and other people who are not in the public sector to meeting our needs in so many ways that may need some assistance as well," Pelosi said.

How do you spell socialism?  PELOSI and DEMS
Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

I take the same Smokin Joe.  I never bought ice cream that expensive before.  I'm the guy that buys the $5.99 half gallon at half price when it is on sale, otherwise my family goes without.

For me, she is the poster child for TERM LIMITS.

The founders had it dead on right when they started the country.  The only people that could vote were those that owned land.  They had a vested interest in the area they resided.  We have too many people on the dole(and I do not consider Social Security in that group), even illegals invading aliens voting in the USA, and they should not have that right.  And the notion of having people in prison having the right to vote makes no sense either.  No wonder people are being released from prison.  Got to keep those votes, right?

The people who originally voted had a vested interest in the country, they were male, white, free, 21, and a property owner.  NONE of those requirements is met today, except not being a slave, and with the extrication of the fruits of my labors at gunpoint, routinely, that part is slightly questionable as well.

A gallon of her Ice Cream would buy enough gas to get me from here to Denver, Minneapolis, or even go visit @bigheadfred in Idaho. Two gallons would get me there and home again (Montana is a wide state, one of the mile markers that gets stolen a lot is the 666 mile marker, denoting that many miles of US 2 from the Western Border, about 30 miles from where I live--either that, or it spooks the locals and they tear it off the post and throw it away.)
