Funding Bill Includes Gun-Controllers' Wish-Come-True: $25M for 'Gun Violence' Research

he House on Tuesday passed full-year funding bills that will keep the government running through fiscal 2020 without the risk of shutdowns. Both the Senate and President Trump are expected to approve the increased funding for both military ($738 billion) and non-defense ($632 billion) operations.

One of the two appropriations packages includes $25 million for the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Institutes of Health to fund "gun violence research," a priority of gun control advocates.

This will be the first time Congress has funded gun research since passage of the Dickey Amendment in 1996. The amendment says the CDC cannot use taxpayer funds to "advocate or promote gun control."............
