Michael Cohen Secretly Taped Trump Discussing Payment to Playboy Model

The F.B.I. seized the recording this year during a raid on Mr. Cohen’s office. The Justice Department is investigating Mr. Cohen’s involvement in paying women to tamp down embarrassing news stories about Mr. Trump ahead of the 2016 election....

When The Wall Street Journal revealed the existence of the payment days before the election, Mr. Trump’s campaign spokeswoman, Hope Hicks, said, “We have no knowledge of any of this.” She said Ms. McDougal’s claim of an affair was “totally untrue.”

FWIW in California, it is not legal to record, without consent.

In the morning, my wife notes the networks are already under waywith their daily smear coverage of Trump.

And I can plan for the same here, thanks to " social media advisor" curated feed, to please the #nevertrumper audience.

Today, This is the rilly big one!! Gonna bring him down. Jeff Flake, James Comey all suited up in heir Peacock Feathers,and strutting around.  A little soft Boosch fambly tune, playing in the background, in memory of their Hillary votes by (GHW, Babs bless her recently departed soul. That aside, one of Trump's mantras is how the media is the 'enemy of the people.'  Well, in this case, you have a media entity that blew the lid off the Edwards affair, but engaged in 'catch and kill' to protect Trump.  The recording itself may not mean anything, legally, but the arrangement just might.

President Trump’s attorney Rudy Giuliani said Friday that a tape of Trump and his then-personal lawyer Michael Cohen discussing a payment to a former Playboy model will exonerate Trump.

“Nothing in that conversation suggests that he had any knowledge of it in advance,” Giuliani told The New York Times of the taped conversation about the payment.

“In the big scheme of things, it’s powerful exculpatory evidence,” he added.

The tape, reportedly seized by the FBI during a raid of Cohen's office earlier this year, features a conversation between Trump and Cohen two months before the 2016 election about making a payment to former Playboy model Karen McDougal, who alleges she had an affair with Trump.

Cohen is reportedly under federal investigation over payments he made to women alleging affairs with Trump ahead of the 2016 election.

Giuliani told The Times that the payment was never made to McDougal, and that the recording lasted less than two minutes.

Cohen's attorney, Lanny Davis, declined to comment to The Times.

If that were indeed a "fact", I'd be willing to accept it.  Of course it isn't.   *****rollingeyes*****  Voters haven't had a chance to decide "to keep" (or not to keep) President Trump.  They won't get that chance until 2020.

LOL.....the 'young lothario' was a 60 year old man having simultaneous unprotected dalliences with (at least) a playboy model and a porn actress, while his 3rd wife was taking care of their 6 month old son.  What an absolute low life.

After the Access Hollywood tape broke on candidate Trump in October the voters went ahead and voted for the Donald anyway in November. That means voters made up their minds and were willing to hire him anyway. They knew they weren’t getting a choirboy.

I think Trump has acquired immunity or dispensation, or something.

So, if the tape is 'exculpatory,' as Rudy claims, why would Cohen tape this brief, seemingly innocuous conversation it and retain it?  My theory:  Trump is on tape requesting payment in check form, so 'there is a record.'  It makes everything look above board, should the deal arrangement with The Enquirer ever get out.  It's a CYA tape and they know it.  It's exactly why Giuliani has previously said 'as long as Michael tells the truth,' they're fine.  They're preparing to call him a liar, if he cooperates and tells the full story.

Why? They are the ones who originate the spending bills, I'm sure Trump would sign whatever they'd put across his desk if it cut spending.  There's nothing stopping them.
