Queen Elizabeth II's official cause of death was released Thursday.

The 96-year-old monarch died of old age.

The certificate, published by National Records of Scotland, records that Elizabeth died at Balmoral Castle in Ballater, Scotland, on Sept. 8 at 3.10 p.m. The document was signed by the queen’s daughter, Princess Anne.

The queen's tomb is located inside the King George VI Memorial Chapel, part of St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

Meghan Markle wanted to be seen as a princess, which is likely why she and Prince Harry requested to reside at Windsor Castle after marrying.

Prince Harry and Markle married in 2018 and moved into Frogmore Cottage. The home is located on the grounds of Windsor Castle and is property belonging to the Crown Estate.

However, Markle seemingly didn't want to live there.

"Frogmore Cottage is a stunning estate on the Windsor Castle grounds. I can confirm that Prince Harry and Meghan had requested a space within Windsor Castle but were offered Frogmore Cottage instead," Kinsey Schofield, royal expert and host of the "To Di For Daily" podcast, told Fox News Digital.

Before Prince Harry and Markle got married, Prince William and Princess Catherine were living in renovated apartments inside Kensington Palace. At the time, Prince Harry lived alone in Nottingham Cottage, a small home detached from the palace where William and Catherine were.

"Part of me wonders if Meghan constantly evaluating what Prince William and Catherine had versus what she was offered is what initially instigated the Windsor Castle pursuits," Schofield said.

"It is clear that Meghan wants to be seen as a princess, and a princess needs a castle."

However, Frogmore Cottage gave Markle and Prince Harry "more room and more privacy," Schofield said.

Queen Elizabeth II's decision to give Frogmore Cottage to Harry, Duke of Sussex, and Markle, Duchess of Sussex, might have stemmed from the couple's propensity for drama, according to the royal expert.

"Windsor Castle had always been a sacred escape for Queen Elizabeth, and based on the amount of drama that the Sussexes had caused in such a short amount of time, I don't think the queen wanted them right under her nose," Schofield said.

"Additionally, Prince Harry and Meghan seemed resentful of royal responsibilities and the attention that comes with it," she added, reiterating that the Sussexes clearly prioritized privacy. "Would they have been able to tolerate the amount of tourists that come through the Windsor Castle grounds regularly or would that kind of attention have proven to be a burden?"

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly want to edit their docuseries with Netflix and delay its release 'until next year' after the Queen's death, multiple sources have told Page Six.

The Duke, 38, and Duchess, 41, of Sussex, who now live in their $14million Montecito mansion with their two children, Archie, three, and one-year-old Lilibet - are working on a documentary as part of their $100 million deal with the streaming service.

It was previously expected that the production would be aired in December, following the fifth season of The Crown on November 9, according to the publication.

However, sources claimed the couple now want to make edits to the series, which would possibly delay its release until later in 2023, as they look to 'downplay much of what they have said about King Charles III, Queen Consort Camilla, and the Prince and Princess of Wales'.

One Hollywood industry source said: 'A lot of conversations are happening. I hear that Harry and Meghan want the series to be held until next year, they want to stall.

'I wonder if the show could even be dead in the water at this point, do Harry and Meghan just want to shelve this thing?,' they added.

A Netflix insider also claimed: ‘Netflix has been keen to have the show ready to stream for December. There’s a lot of pressure on (Netflix CEO) Ted Sarandos, who has the relationship with Harry and Meghan, to get this show finished.’

It comes after The Mail on Sunday reported that Harry has launched a last-minute bid to tone down his bombshell autobiography amid fears his final draft 'might not go down too well' in the wake of the Queen's death.

Privacy is coveted amongst the Royal Family, and new reports out of California reveal Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are angling for a more secluded and private property to live with their two children.

According to the Santa Barbara News-Press, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are shopping around in the exclusive Hope Ranch area of Santa Barbara.

According to Realtor.com, the median listing for a home in the area was $6M as of August 2022.

The couple, who left their home in the United Kingdom along with their duties as senior royals in 2020, moved to California to raise their two children, Archie and Lilibet.

A representative for Harry and Meghan previously told Fox News they had moved into a Santa Barbara home in July 2020, where they had "settled into the quiet privacy of their community," which they hoped would be upheld out of respect "for their neighbors, as well as them as a family."

With their children's titles in limbo as well as the general loss in physical security by no longer being working members of the royal family, the couple have placed a premium on seclusion.

Harry and Meghan, who were designated the private Frogmore Cottage to live in after they were married in the United Kingdom, have felt that their privacy has been compromised on several occasions.

The local publication claims that the royal couple may have "already purchased" a home in the ritzy area within Santa Barbara.

Looks like Prince William and Kate Middleton are potentially about to add yet another home to their growing list of properties. The Sun reports that King Charles has "earmarked" Frogmore House for the new Prince and Princess of Wales,

The house (really, it's a full blown mansion) was built in 1684 on the Windsor Estate, and if it sounds familiar that might be because it was the location of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's wedding reception. And speaking of the Sussexes, Frogmore House is fully different from their home Frogmore Cottage—which is nearby and also on the Windsor Estate.

Reminder that William and Kate literally just moved from their country home Anmer Hall to Adelaide Cottage, and apparently they aren't super thrilled about the prospect of moving again now that Charles is King and royal property re-shuffle is taking place. But The Sun reports that while there's no info on what "the Wales family would do" with Frogmore House, its "attraction may be too great to ignore."

Meanwhile, The Daily Mail recently reported that there's a "radical drive to overhaul the vast Royal estate," and there was even some talk of moving William and Kate into Windsor Castle proper. As the outlet put it: "Charles's wide-ranging plans include turning Balmoral into a museum to the Queen and moving the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge into Windsor Castle."

"The Prince of Wales [now King Charles] strongly believes that these places have got to deliver something for the public beyond just being somewhere for members of the Royal Family to live," a source said. "Everything is seen through the lens of the question: 'What value is this offering to the public? Everybody recognizes it makes no sense to run so many residences but if you give them up entirely you will never get them back when Prince George and the younger Royals grow up and need somewhere to live."

Prince Harry “clings” to wife Meghan Markle “like a needy man, like a life raft,” royal biographer Tom Bower tells Page Six exclusively.

The Duchess of Sussex “satisfies all” of the Duke of Sussex’s “requirements,” which he “didn’t get from other girlfriends,” the author of “Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors” explains.

Bower also claims that Harry, 38, is a “damaged” and “very disturbed” man as a result of childhood trauma — and Markle, 41, allegedly knew just how to win him over.

“He is psychologically harmed both by his mother’s death and the father’s treatment of his mother, and of Harry himself, when he was a child,” the author alleges to us.

Prince Harry’s difficult life — and those of his royal relatives — has been highly publicized for years.
