In answer to your query @Once-Ler, I assume that Trump had an affair with Daniels but nobody outside of her and Trump "know" if this is true. I would consider it likely that Trump told Cohen to pay her off, but again only Trump and his protected-by-privilege lawyer would "know" if this is true. In both cases, the acts are legal so I don't care which version is true...because I don't really care who the President slept with 12 years prior to his election as President.

As for lying, unless you were in the room with Daniels and/or in the room when Trump spoke with Cohen on the topic, you have no way of "knowing" what was said nor what occurred. In other words, there is no way to know if he is lying or not...and if he were, it has no relevance to anything he is doing as President.

Get back to me when you have evidence of some sort of crime...or something unexpected or of importance...unlike affairs from 12 years ago or a rich guy paying a porn star to be quiet.

When did Trump pay off the porn star?  here is a clue.  It is not in dispute.

Giuliani: Trump knew I was going to get Stormy Daniels revelation 'over with'
http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/386104-giuliani-trump-knew-i-was-going-to-get-stormy-daniels-revelation-over

The former New York City mayor and recent addition to Trump’s legal team told The Washington Post that Trump “was well aware that at some point when I saw the opportunity, I was going to get this over with.”

Giuliani told the newspaper that he didn’t believe he would be fired for making the revelation, but added, “If I do, I do. It wouldn’t be the first time it ever happened. But I don’t think so, no.”

Well, then the two of them were the only ones who knew about it.  If anyone saw the daily briefing, Sanders looked as if she didn't sleep much and said she first became aware of the payment during the interview last night.

“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people”. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

– John Adams

Unless you are running for President, in which case morality is a drag on the party and it doesn't matter.  We are told we are not electing a pope - so religion is irrelevant.  What matter is what comes forth from the lips of a candidate at any given moment.  That is what we are told we should put our faith and trust in.  Not the character of the person they want to make our Supreme Ruler.

So, when fishing expeditions like these are aimed and fired at those that the other side of the aisle and population does not like and want removed from office - handing them a lying sleaze ball with few morals outside of the promotion of themselves is like gift-wrapping impeachment for them.

Get used to these types of nonstop "investigations" - especially when you hand the opposition such a rich depository of sleaze and scum in which to dip fishing trip investigations for improprieties.  This is the new normal, and this people hate any kind of goodie-two-shoes - so expect standards to continue to be lowered into the pit of sleaze until it scrapes the bottom of human depravity and criminality in our elected leaders.

No, what brought them back from the brink was the TEA party wave.....

Yeah. Right. The flash in the pan movement that was but a brief moment in the timeline of the country and is all but gone today except for a few rusty Ford F-150's with faded Gadsden flags festooned to their bumper.

Well, on Nov 7 2016 the only other possibility was to put Hillary Clinton into the White House. Are you arguing we'd be better off if we'd let that happen?
I'm sorry, I thought you said "If the opportunity to vote for that liar Trump came up again tomorrow, I’d get up extra early to make sure I got a place in line."  So you mean you will vote for Trump again if he faces Hillary? wut?

Odd that such an irrelevant group would end up being people in Trump's cabinet as Secretary of State, VP, OMB Director, etc...

Plus, all the others still in Congress who actually give a damn about silly things like fiscal responsibility.

If you alienate every single person then you sure won't have a country.

You go ahead and make known liars, thieves, reprobates, sex addicts and perverts your rulers because they tickle your ears with what you want to hear so as not to alienate a wicked and debased generation of people.

You simply become as leavened as they are because the government will force-feed it to you by law.  Congratulations.

Nobody is perfect.  Can you work with peoples imperfections as they try to be better?  Or do you insist they be perfect before you will work with them.

I do not vote to make such people with inabilities to govern themselves and their own house to be my ruler.  But you go ahead and continue to do so.

Meanwhile the country is burning.   think fast

If people vote for moral and vain incompetents; men of debased morality that burn the country down - I am not one to stop them.  They shall have what they demand, and eat all the fruit of what they think they want.

I'm just pointing it all out as a witness.

I guess in your estimation, John Adams' statement is all bogus and irrelevant when it comes to the country today, right?

The crater that was once the GOP after his term will likely make that clear.

The GOP landscape and pathway for Trump, was Milk w Toast, losers like Dole, McCain, Romney and many others with zero fight.

Do you live in the delusion, thinking if only Cruz was nominated, he would have won and the democrats and media would have honored the results, and not initiated a Coup to take him down?

@Applewood   No one picked the wrong horse.  People voted for Trump because of what he promised to do for America and he has made a strong effort to keep those promises.

As far as your list goes, Trump was unable to totally get rid of Obamacare because of Congress but the worst aspect of Obamacare was removed, as you well know.

Tax reform may not be perfect but it is a good start and a help to many families.

Gorsuch made a ruling you don't like but it was justified because it was a bad bill he couldn't sign just because you wanted him to.

Trump is making progress in replacing bad judges with good and he is on the verge of getting his travel ban approved.

Illegals are not flooding this country but too many are coming in.  Obama completely disarmed ICE agents and it will take more than a year to get all his pro-illegal policies changed.

As far as Trump's private life long before entering politics, I'm not a fan of that but it doesn't disqualify him.  I can remember when people were aghast because Adlai Stevenson had been divorced.

Typical Trump supporter behavior.  Just like their hero, Trump fans excuse, blame others and gloss over their hero's failures.

So boinking some chippies while married and then lying about it doesn't bother you.  Would you be so forgiving if your spouse did the same?  I sure hope not.  But it's been my experience that people who once had some ethics threw them all away when Trump came along.  Clinton boinked and raped women, then lied about it, and many of the same people who were appalled by sucnh behavior then now think it's ok as long as it's Trump doing the same or similar.

Was any of this illegal and grounds for impeachment?  i don't know.  But it's all immoral and unethical.  And when we start excusing immorality and apply ethics selectively, the country slides into ruin.  So what other bad behavior will Trump supporters excuse and gloss over next?

Clinton's started out as Whitewater and ended up as Lewinsky.
Trump's started out as Russia and ended up as Daniels.

Trust me, I am no Clinton fan, but investigate Whitewater-then stop.
Same with Trump, investigate Russia - then stop.

Except it's not Starr and Mueller doing whatever the hell they want.  Reno and Rosenstein had to authorize it.  The only calls I can remember for firing Reno were over Waco.

I don't think anyone is cheering..I think most of us here are pissed off that this *investigation* has gone on this long. When there is new info re any of this I am going to post it here to discuss.
@mystery-ak

All this is with Trump, is a continuation of his feud with Rosie O'Donald.  He has to have a feud going and that one has gone on for years - he just exchanged the O'Donald one with the Justice Department - and it doesn't mean anything to him, just like the O'Donald one didn't matter to him.

A woman reporter who lives in London, wrote an article with him and was with him a number of days.  He tried to get her in bed with him and she refused.  He sent her nasty messages for twenty years.  She finally got a lawyer and told him if he sent another message, she would have him charged with harassment.  Only then did he stop.  The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior.

What a lame statement. No one expects "perfect" from a politician. Some of us do expect basic decency, moral conviction and understanding of the constitution they are supposed to be upholding. You've set the bar so low there are very few that aren't qualified by those standards as long as they say what you want to hear.

The so what is that Trump has denied that he knew anything about any payments to Ms Daniels.

Now his lawyer is on TV saying not only did he know...he repaid his lawyer for the money that was paid out.

But seriously...so what?  Trump wasn't under oath when he claimed he knew nothing about the payments, so legally, it's a non-issue even if he did lie about it.

I can't see any other relevance to the point.

Lame attempt to dodge the question.  Why not answer whether or not his assertion that 'Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other' is bogus and irrelevant in today's society?

Is it or isn't it?

Answer that instead of dodging the question or insulting my refusal to bow at the altar of the man you worship.

Okay, but even Starr has admitted later that it all went too far.
