Another Damn Election you Trumpers screwed up, I should have gotten that award!

Now don't go all Bette Davis on me @corbe.  We all know the votes from the Trumplican Academy are secret and kept by Waterhorse Price Trump Trump Melania Ivanka and Trump.   It is not my fault that they may have leakers in the White House who cheated by plumbing the members with bitters from ArteFufnukkin to ignore dumber people than me on this forum.

I don't really see what the jealousy is all about.  The Trumplican Academy flings insult awards of such creative verbitude that winning prestigious awards is a daily red carpet event here.

I am sure if you disagree with something Trump says or does tomorrow - you will be the one to give a speech from behind the podium.

Actually @INVAR it is YOU that deserves this prestigious Award, I've been around here long enough to know that no one can excite the Trumpers to level 11 like you can and rather quickly too, I might add.   CONGRATS!

No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.

Well, technically speaking you can see that the actual award pictured is from a clipart library online.

The ACTUAL award I received from Myst via courier just a bit ago, is slightly different than what she pictured in her post.

Unfortunately due to the overwhelming numbers of awards being tossed out daily - Myst had to go dig up this one from her basement to send to me:

It's the Academy of Proctologists Gastro Technician of the Year award from 1997.

It's the thought that counts!

P.S., I am pretty sure that when this award was announced to the original winner, the orchestra played 'Moon River" while the Doc was striding up to the stage.

There was nothing she wrote that was even remotely intelligent.

You Never-Trumpers are kind idiots, but really not dangerous politically.

I remember a time when someone would have mentioned that what Reagan accomplished was done with a Democrap controlled House.

Ah, good times.
I did note that. Also noted that the number was 60% at the time, not 49%. Also noted that the 1981 mandate had far more items.

But that got lost in the mud-slinging. Oh, well.

I just want to mention that I remember when @ArneFufkin was a decent, kind human being.

Trump love has clearly made him nasty and it is sad.

I don't know him, so I'll take your word for it -- because it seems Trump Madness has made a lot of people go off the rails.  I just wonder which personality is real -- the kind, gentle one up till about 2015-2016 -- or the mean-spirited one they have now.

And as some of  them are finding out their god isn't living up to their expectations, their constant anger is getting worse.  It has to be difficult always having to defend the hero who betrayed them instead of admitting they were wrong about him.

@Applewood

Exactly!  As Trump becomes more and more erratic (e.g., attacking due process) and moves further and further away from true conservative principles (e.g., adding trillions to the debt), I’m sure it’s quite frustrating to his many of his most passionate zealots.  This is especially true for the ones who flatly refuse to criticize the President even when he violates principles they thought they valued.

Yes, I expect Trump supporters to get more and more angry over time increasingly lashing out at any and everyone else in their frustration, but seldom, if ever, criticizing the leader of their Cult of Personality despite him embracing policies they used to despise.

Reagan suffered eight years of a heavily Democrat-controlled House.  Trump has enjoyed GOP control of House and Senate his entire term.  Just think of what Reagan could have accomplished with Bob Michel as House Speaker.

I’m beginning to think that none of them actually believed in the principles they claimed to.

How could you claim to believe in the Constitution and then screech at people who still do because they don’t support trump as he violates it?

It’s incoherent.

^^^THIS!

Recall that we were lectured that principles were an injury to 'pragmatism', and that the 'perfect' is the enemy of the 'good'.

Well, the 'good enough' has waged war on the 'principled perfectionists' and now everything they believe in rests upon a man they put into office rather than the principles they never really believed in.

How could you claim to believe in the Constitution and then screech at people who still do because they don’t support trump as he violates it?

It's all about the cult of personality and the 'team' now.  Recall that some ardent Trump fanatics actually publicly opined out there that Trump should act as a dictator to thwart Congress and do what he campaigned on.  Today they blame Congress for Trump's 180 on his core promises and are silent about 1.5 TRILLION in deficit spending and Trump's remarks of suspending due process rights until AFTER gun confiscations.

Among the accomplishments hailed by the Heritage Foundation are leaving the Paris Climate Accord, repealing network neutrality rules, reshaping national monuments, reinstating the Mexico City Policy preventing taxpayer money from funding international groups involved in abortion and ending funding to the United Nations Population fund.

Others include reforming the Johnson era Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Program welfare program,  allowing development of natural resources, reforming government agencies and withdrawing from UNESCO, the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization.

These are the highlights they picked out to hail?

There’s a lot of things policy wonks care about and people think would generally be nice.  However, the average American neither knows, nor cares much about many of these programs as part of their daily life.  Without notes, Trump couldn’t coherently explain them, either.  Funny how this came out and people who only know about the Heritage Foundation because they half heard it mentioned during a Limbaugh commercial break now consider them the authority on everything.  I wonder what they think of this:

https://www.heritage.org/trade/commentary/3-reasons-why-trumps-tariffs-would-hurt-american-workers

As far as tariffs go, nobody but trade wonks really know how they work.

But I like the things cited that Trump has done.
Against stupidity, the Gods themselves contend in vain.
