He could not have possibly known anything on October 28th either. It was idiotic to do anything a week before the election, the only thing he accomplished was to further damage the FBI in the eyes of the public...

That's a weaselly as hell statement by Comey.

He said they went through all the emails "to or from" Hillary. That conspiciously avoids emails between Huma and Weiner, and avoids the entire issue of whether Hillary's top aide engaged in illegal conduct.

The political pressure here is obvious - he was told to limit the scope of what he was looking at solely to direct misconduct by Hillary, and to get a statement out before the election. To do that, they punted on the issue of criminal conduct by Huma, which would ve a direct reflection on Hillary's own judgment.

Fix was in, and Comey crumbled.

Huh? He knew that there were emails relating to the investigation on a computer that had not previously been disclosed. He knew that directly contradicted his sworn congressional testimony, which was premised in part on a sworn statement by Abedin that there were no other emails on any other devices.

Finally, he knew that he had promised Congress, under oath, that he would inform them if other emails turned up.

Based on what he knew, he was ethically bound to inform Congress.

The problem with this whole email scandal is that the GOP cried wolf so much about it already that the American public is almost numb to it....
