Based on what read on the WSJ site, I think the result of this is that Abedin goes down because she exchanged emails with the Clinton server on a laptop she shared with Weiner. That means that he may have had access to classified information. This now falls to the level equal to the general who let his girlfriend see classified info on his laptop. Since they discovered the emails and this computer by accident, if you will, that most likely means that she failed to tell the FBI about it. That, technically would be either perjury or lying to a federal law enforcement official (which can be criminal). That, in turn, could undo any immunity deal she has.
However, this focuses everything on her, and takes the focus off Clinton, which will further distance Clinton from apparent wrongdoing.
So, my guess is that Abedin ends up pleading guilty to the same misdemeanor that general pled to, and the FBI will close the case and that will be that. Clinton will be further insulated from charges.
