Sounds like a Brownshirt threat.  Is it?

I still think some of us are owed apologies for telling us we were out of line for using Nazi imagery/comparisons. Because a Brownshirt threat is EXACTLY what that comment of his was.

The thing that kills me about this whole Trump thing is that he was never a very compelling con man. He's not a smooth talker. He's not an effective liar. His Republican primary debate performance consisted entirely of standing there with this faux tough-guy look on his face, repeating low-brow slogans, and calling the other candidates childish names. He was and is so transparently full of sh*t that I am just baffled how even the most mentally deficient person could be fooled by him. The only explanation I can come up with is that there was so much pent-up frustration from years of things not going their way, that people were willing to ignore the obvious, and substitute their wishes for reality.

I understand the frustration however the is something that I have learned in life. Sone times things always don't go your way. As a base we have to learn and learn how to make do in  what we have.

The more we scream and shout the less effective our message bbbecome

@Freya, all we can do is accept the reality that Hillary is going to win this thing and try to take a little enjoyment in black humor when we can find it.  If Trump is crushed thoroughly enough, it might keep some of his supporters from turning him into a martyr and trying to resurrect him four years from now.  Then we might have a chance at actually electing someone decent.

@CatherineofAragon

LOL, do you believe in unicorns too? President Hillary will end conservatism as a political force in the USA. Got that? Conservatism is dead dead dead under President Hillary.

Hillary will put American conservatism in the ash heap of history. She will grant amnesty to millions of illegals (Marxists) and never again will an R win a national election. She will pack the Supreme Court with activist Marxist judges that will totally rewrite our constitution. We will lose freedom of speech to hate laws. We will lose freedom of religion to discrimination laws. We will lose the 2cd to gun control laws.  We will lose the ability to earn a living to trade laws. And that's only if she does not first get us into a nuclear war with Russia over Syria. When we will lose our lives. Voting anything but Trump is insanity.

Looks like Obama might just beat Hillary to the punch in starting a war with Russia

We warned them, and they failed to listen.

You didn't warn us, your guy lost fair and square. You're just a sore loser. Now you willing to see the country destroyed by Hillary because you're a spoiled brat.

Category error. Trump already destroyed it with your assistance. Then there's all the lesser evil Republicans that your kind demanded we elect for 30 years that led to Obama ruling as a king uncontested.

Blame is yours, not ours. Live with it.

The thing that kills me about this whole Trump thing is that he was never a very compelling con man. He's not a smooth talker. He's not an effective liar.

His appeal is that he says the things that a lot of people on forums like this have always wanted their candidates to say.  It's the same appeal that the likes of Sarah Palin and other politicians have had (including Jeff Sessions and, at times, Ted Cruz); the same sort of appeal for some, that Ross Perot or Pat Buchanan have had.

That sort of appeal has its roots in the desire to hit back against a smug and arrogant foe that never seems to lose, or to stay defeated when they do lose a battle.  In a guy like Trump, they see ... well, they see a bigger bully who looks like he might have a chance to win a fight.

The fact that Trump is a narcissistic grifter and a demagogue who appears to be using that appeal to his own ends -- none of that matters.  He's still the guy who they think will hit back, and to them that's more important than any petty groping he may have done.

Pretty uncharitable words on my part.  But to those who ardently support Trump, I think it's probably the explanation.

The only thing Trump has destroyed is the false face of pretend conservatives. The ones now supporting Hillary will either show their true face as the opposition or will try to weasel back into conservative circles with bogus mea culpas.

I was just thinking: "here we are with no general in this war", and you reminded me who our General is.

Quoting BG Anthony McAuliffe, "Nuts."

ETA:  Sanguine, the General I was referring to is Trump. A second read of your post indicates that you were referring to a Higher Authority.

Truth is (truth that you Trump supporters somehow can't get next to) is that Trump himself has done more to destroy conservatism than Obama or Hillary or ANY other person ever could have.  And I am convinced that his destruction of conservatism was only too intentional on his part.

@Scutter

I can't pinpoint what quality Trump possesses that inspires such fevered adoration, either.  I've always viewed him as a braggart gasbag who exudes BS.  It's glaringly obvious.  But there's something.  Months ago I read an article by an anti-Trump author in which she described a friend's experience with one of Trump's snake oil offerings.  The friend couldn't stand Trump and saw right through him, just as we do.  She decided to sign up for some kind of Trump class in leadership or something similar---for the fun of it and to find out just how phony he would be.  The author was shocked when her friend left the class having bought into the entire course.  The friend admitted that she still hated Trump, still believed he was utterly full of it, but that he had some kind of unreal gift to sell himself to people.

I wish I had bookmarked that article.

For those Trump supporters who adore him, though, he knows exactly what to say to them.  He knows how to portray himself as a combination saint and martyr so they'll love him even more and be even more furious with his persecutors.  Witness his rallies from yesterday and the day before, when he said he was a victim of terrible smears and said that he was undergoing all of the suffering for his supporters.  They eat it up.  Tears run down their faces and they pledge undying loyalty to him.

I can't wait for the books that will be written about this campaign and about the phenomenon of Trump the con-man/demagogue.

Enjoy President Hillary

You elected her to be your queen by choosing her Trojan Stalking Horse.

Live with it.

Or not.

We have nothing to do with her rule.

YOU decided that inevitability by making Trump your prince.

Brain-dead Trumpkin.  His kind will still be around after Trump is long gone:

sink, I wrote a post to you about your post that Trump is "crazy" and I hit something on this computer that wiped it out and shut down TBR.  Rats.  I said to you that shortly after I came here, I said Trump was insane and gave reasons for my knowing that.  Later, a Trumper who had not posted in a while, think he had been booted, I didn't now him, got on and said, "Marcella you have to be dealt with."  I understand the Trumpers piled on but I was away from home when that happened and the posts were deleted before I came back home.

With Trump's present break-down, people are realizing he is insane.  He is insane because he cannot control himself and should never have the nuclear codes near him.  Yes, he is a sick-o when it comes to women, but having the nuclear codes means world annihilation with millions dead.  It doesn't matter who is on the supreme court if you are dead.

I would not live on the west coast now.  A friend of mine on FR left California and went east to a safe place.   This country is in bad shape, but Trump would destroy what is left of it.
