Already driven down this road and back a million times.
1. Trump isn't really a conservative because he was once a Democrat and is from New York.
2. Whatever Trump says, he doesn't mean. It doesn't matter how conservative his policies appear.
3. Trump's policies are just words
4. Because he contributed to Hillary years ago, likely for special favor, he is as bad as she is
5. Neither candidate is moral enough to garner my vote
The sad thing is, you can't argue policy or you'll just get one of the above mentioned talking points.
I'll address each point..
1)Just because he's from NY doesn't mean he cannot be a conservative. But, if Trump was in office for the last 30 years, his past, both distant and even some recent, positions and statements would earn him the title, at the very least, of RINO
2) How much of his currently stated policies does he really believe and how many are just to pander to the right? Again, no one can say for certain
3)Right now, they are just words. And, because he has no legislative record and because there is alot of contradictions, I reserve the right to be skeptical
4) He didn't just contribute to her political campaigns. he also donated to the Clinton Foundation and praised her. And, what evidence do you have, after being a part, not a cause, but a player in a corrupt system that he did benefit from, that he is the man to fix it?
5)Since all of us are flawed, I don't know how you would determine if a candidate is moral enough to earn one's vote. I do expect that a candidate running for office is not embroiled in scandals.
So, you fret about not able to argue policy. Yet, you just seem to take Mr Trump at his word that all that you hope to happen under his leadership will when there is more than ample evidence it may not.
Nobody here is going to disagree with you that the economy isn't doing well, the country is heading in the wrong direction, that illegal immigration is a problem or that ObamaCare is a ticking time bomb. But since Trump's positions have been all over the map on many of these issues and , with his own words, leaves many wondering, do you understand why many of us remain skeptical and need more than "but he promised us?"
