Welcome, @XenaLee.

We've got the makings of a fine Texas board here!

Oh, @austingirl, did you see that Franklin Graham will be at the Capitol tomorrow?
I no longer live in Austin- moved to the Hill Country in 2011. The Obama signs at my neighbors did me in. Along with the traffic at the "Y" in Oak Hill.

I remember back in the day  there was no reason to go north of Beltline Rd..... unless you lived in the sticks er Plano!

Yes. Back when Plano was primarily a farming community and Preston Road was dirt/gravel.

Oh, wow - we must have been neighbors.  I left Oak Hill in '08 and moved NW.  And, the traffic is even worse now.

Tell me about it!  Before I left I had to make a trip up to Prosper from Richardson.  I had no idea Preston road extended that far!

More hail is expected today. Are you still in New Braunfels? Hope you are fairing well. My cars are OK. I do believe my roof had hail damage. Will contact my homeowners agent when (if) things settle down.

Nice thread y'all have here.  I'm from a small town a couple of hours west of DFW on the edge of the desert....lol.

I joined TBR earlier today after finding myself zotted from FreeRepublic, for not bowing to the presumptive nominee.

A lot more peaceful here.....

Glad you're here.

It can get a bit heated here, but nothing like TOS.

Been here since yesterday when someone reached out to me when I could no longer post. I have reached out to slyfox who is considering joining. I never did change my alias when I moved out to the Hill Country in 2011, but remember fondly the marches at the Capitol in 2000.I met some great FReepers: basil, TheBatLady, TheSarce (may she rest in peace), anymouse, DrewsDad, and many others. Went shooting with the ladies, had the Texas HOT chapter at my house for meetings. Good times. Glad to see so many Texans here! :patriot:

Native Texan here, spending the next three or so weeks with my daughter in NYC.  And am enjoying the heck out of this trip.

I have hosted the TexasCowboy Memorial Shoot for the past ten years.  If anyone is interested, the 11th annual will be held this October in Hicksville.  FYI - the shoot is not about FR, it is to honor a truly wonderful Texas man.

Austin is a challenge.

Two point plan for turning Austin from blue to red.

1. Cut funding for all UT programs except STEM majors.
2. Have the state legislature enact a law that makes Austin a must-carry (concealed or open) city for all adults.

Maybe we can get everyone together again for a trip to Walburg or someplace in the near future.
