Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

lol...I know I find myself unplugging my Alexa at least 2 or 3 times a day to be able to have candid discussions with my wife.  I don't trust that little Hockey Puck more than I can throw it.

I will never have anything like that in my home. It's bad enough that my phone can be listening.

It does do some nice things that are very useful. Like music, quick math, distances, or general quesitons.   You just got to be careful to unplug it when warranted.

Sadly, no such device understands redneck.., So its usefulness is seldom worth any more than the hilarity that often ensues when a command is given.

And BTW, I find my mind to be much sharper when I actually do the math myself. I used to hold nearly two hundred phone numbers in my head... Now I can barely remember my own... That, I assure you, is an atrophy that improves the more I quit relying on computers to do it for me. YMMV.

Yep, and 90% on one topic.

Democrats and Liberals have been relegated to meme status.  They have nothing else to offer the nation.

"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

@Kamaji

There are a couple of things more criminal about this than the missing funds. The BIG one is that nobody seems to care,and this leads to the other one,which this is so common it is an accepted part of daily political life.

This is entirely unacceptable.  SOMEBODY needs to go to prison,and it needs to be somebody big that is directly involved,regardless of party or current position.

In the spirit of the uber wealthy from the first day wealth was created,"So what? If you want privilege should become wealthy,also! It is those of us who create the wealth that deserve to retain almost all of it."

Rules are for the little people,who matter so little.
