My room was next to the LBJ suite.  Nice place, for a old hotel.  I had some friends who stayed in the newer section.  Sixth Street was loaded with good bars.  I was there back in the 80's, and there were hookers aplenty.

It's hard to tell.  The only functional difference is you had to pay one kind.  And they were mostly trannies, even back then.

6th street in Austin is very much like Bourbon Street in New Orleans.  (If you happen to drop your wallet on 6th street kick it for about 10 blocks before you pick it up.)

I doubt these guys were 'drunk' on alcohol in Austin.

A South Dakota woman is lucky to be alive after a freak lawn mower accident.

Kendra Jensen told KSFY that her husband was mowing their lawn when the mower kicked up a piece of debris.

"It is straight-up hot as soccer balls out there," police in Braintree, Massachusetts, wrote Friday in a light-hearted Facebook post. "Conducting criminal activity in this extreme heat is next-level henchmen status and also very dangerous."

Braintree is a community of more than 35,000 people situated approximately 20 minutes south of Boston. The National Weather Service placed the city under an excessive heat warning Saturday, with high temperatures in the 90s expected throughout the weekend...

Grocery worker found in shop where he worked after 10-year search

Police say the body of a man who went missing in 2009 has been discovered behind a freezer in the now-closed supermarket where he worked.

Investigators in Council Bluffs, Iowa, say Larry Ely Murillo-Moncada, 25, had apparently fallen into an 18-inch (45cm) gap at No Frills supermarket.

Noise from the coolers probably muffled his cries for help, according to investigator Sgt Brandon Danielson.

No foul play was detected and his death was ruled to be accidental.

A Massachusetts woman, once a member of the Israeli military, has told the man that flashed her last week “I’m going to get you, darling”, as she hit out at the several witnesses who refused to help her accost him.

Aia Polansky, a 33-year-old mother of two, was jogging down Memorial Drive near Vassar Street in Cambridge on July 18 at around 7:30 a.m. when a man jogging past her exposed himself twice.

“He pulled his pants once and I didn’t react too much I thought it’s awkward,” she told Boston’s WBZ-TV Wednesday. “As he came closer he pulled them again then I understood maybe it’s not what I think it is and then he reached his hand out.”

Aia Polansky, the victim here is 6'1", she was able to pin this guy down but nobody came to her help to call the police, so he was able to get away per the story.

Unfortunately, I think women, some women,  must have to run into things like this from time to time.
