2. Russia's war to conquer Ukraine started in 2014. 2022 was just the start of a major offensive in that same war.

3. Russia can stop their war anytime they want to. This is not an option for the Ukrainians who do not want to be ruled by the Russians again.

Since you're so gung ho on saving Ukraine's sovereignty recently Ukraine make it very easy for Americans to sign up in their military.  Would you consider sending a few of your "kids"?

Considering Putin's terms, I don't blame him.  Putin's non-negotiable terms:

- Surrender all of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, and Luhansk oblasts
- Zelenskiy step down
- No EU membership for Ukraine
- No arms deals with any other EU or NATO nation
- Versailles-style restraints on Ukraine military
- The remainder of Ukraine becomes a vassal state of Greater Russia.

Does he want peace?

Who, Putin?  Absolutely not.  He won't even abide by the cease fire terms he demands of Ukraine (e.g. demilitarize the Black Sea, end attacks on energy centers, etc.)

This war can easily be won with minimal investment.  The US simply lacks a leader who desires to win.  The previous leader wanted this war to last until infinity, using it as a means to reshape the world though US graft.  The current leader is willing to cede everything over to Putin, erroneously believing that doing so will bring peace.  There is a third option.

We want the same thing which is peace. But you think caving in to the Russians will buy it for you when appeasement has never worked before.

Myself, I want to see Russia bloodied and weakened sufficiently that it'll be decades or generations before they'll ever even have a fucntioning economy again, let alone be capable of threatening anyone.

I want the Russian threat put to an end. Those pricks have been threatening America for eighty years now.

Trump himself said that one walks away from the negotiations when the "deal" isn't within reach. I find it interesting that people think Z would walk away on such a crucial issue.
