It's much worse than that. Russia was going to withdraw from Donbas under the Istanbul agreement. That's a non-starter now. Millions of lives, hundreds of billions wasted, and Ukraine will lose most of Donbas.

These are all Kremlin-propagated lies. The supposed "negotiations" in Istanbul in March 2022 were Russian demands for Ukraine's unconditional surrender. Does anybody actually believe that Russia was going to withdraw from anywhere?
