So, by your reasoning politicians could define my pocket knife with a 2" blade as an "Assault Weapon" and it magically becomes an assault weapon? :silly:

Makes perfect sense.  Gun grabbers have the goalposts mounted on roller skates.
For unvaccinated, we are looking at a winter of severe illness and death — if you’re unvaccinated — for themselves, their families, and the hospitals they’ll soon overwhelm. Sloe Joe Biteme 12/16
I will NOT comply.

And are skilled at bogus "everybody does it" moral equivalency arguments.
If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

I think that you and Chris Hahn (the self titled "Aggressive Progressive") are on to sometime here.....  I can see very easily that the gang bangers, street criminals, and drugged up "mass shooters" are ALL going to make sure that there insurance premiums are all paid up in advance before even thinking of firing a shot.....

That sounds like a plan!!

 :whistle:

@EdJames

Which of the following insurance type is not regulated by a government entity:

Auto
Home
Life
Flood
Dental

All of them are regulated.

Why would insuring a firearm, to "supposedly" cover the damages they may cause, not be regulated by the government, in some way?

First, the law would require you to have insurance to buy a firearm.
Then the "insurance" company, with help from our ever-helpful government oversight, would demand which types of firearms can be insured, and what insurance premium will be placed on them.

This means that the government will, in fact, decide which firearms can be purchased, by setting the terms of what they will allow to be insured.

If you need insurance to be a firearm but the government won't allow certain firearms to be insured, you will not be able to purchase that firearm.

Best case scenario:
 They let you insure all types, but the premiums would be so high that no one would be able to purchase certain firearms the government entity that oversees the firearms deems "too extreme".

They would use the rationale by saying things like "we don't let dragsters on the freeway, either".

No thank you.

@GrouchoTex my worry is that...like flood insurance...the Federal Government will deem itself the lone purveyor of "Firearms Insurance" if that scheme every becomes law.

Then they can set the prices (extremely high) the terms for being insured (unreasonable to be sure) and determine whether you're denied a policy or not. ("I'm sorry we have this FB pic of you wearing a MAGA hat...your application has been denied...please turn in your weapons to the nearest police station immediately.")

You and I won't be able to afford the insurance...which is by design...and only the very wealth and very connected will be able to get insured...kinda like what you have to be to get a concealed permit now in New York or LA.

@txradioguy
It will, once again, place another "tax/regulation" on those who can least afford it.
A burden which will be manipulated by whatever party is in power at any given time.

And meanwhile...the criminals will continue to kill...but with much less worry about a good guy with a gun stopping them.

It would be awful, @GrouchoTex , for all the reasons that you mention and then some....

And you know that not one outlaw would be carrying a policy..... just another sham on the confiscation road.....

I think the point of the insurance scam is to make the law-abiders pay for the law-breakers.  Sort of like the "Uninsured Motorist" riders on auto insurance policies.  Leftists are cool with this.
