Trump does have problems with the people around him.  All I'm saying is if he would spend the time taking care of those problems instead of engaging in Twitter pissing matches all the time, he might actually get things done and things would run more smoothly.

Actually @Applewood if Merkel had control of her host city, where the President stayed would not have been an issue.

They did have a place to stay -- it's where they're staying right now.  The luxury hotels were all booked before the election, so it's not a question of a lack of "follow-up" by the Trump Administration.  There were simply no rooms available, period.  They never had a chance.

I suspect that the rooms actually were booked by the Obama Administration, but deliberately cancelled after the election.  Nothing Trump could do about that, and certainly not something anyone in their right might would have though would happen.  In any case, this simply isn't their fault.

The problem is.... hotels always still have rooms available for a certain price and for certain people.   Just because they 'say' they don't have rooms, doesn't mean it's necessarily true.

But if those rooms were deliberately cancelled by the Obama aholes, I would make that public knowledge once I got back in the states.

I see that reading comprehension is still not your strong suit.
Projection is truly your (best) friend @XenaLee

Considering the ill-will Trump's election has caused among the Euro weinies.... and considering the obvious ill-will among Obama's regime, not to mention their blatant ineptness....  somebody in Trump's staff should have anticipated AND made a backup plan.  (duh)

You know, here's where you should stop and give some credit.  The President's staff DID have a backup plan.  How the hell do you think the President is staying where he is staying.

And give him credit ... the President chose not to stay at his five star hotel (imagine the doilies reaction to THAT) and did not complain or make a public comment about Obama's ef-up.

The only reason we're even talking about the President's accommodations is because Mrs. Merkel cannot control the violence in her host city.  SHE is the problem here.

Projection may be your best friend, but it sure as hell isn't mine.

And....the violence in "her city" is a completely separate issue from the no hotel rooms issue.   I don't get the connection.

Wonderful.  So even though the entire story blaming him or his staff for this is bogus, it is nevertheless his fault that it happened.

No, they don't.  It is impossible to always have extra rooms for rent.  Because once someone actually does rent them, they're no longer available.

There are people who blame everything that happens to Trump on tweeting.  We just have to ignore them.

She has done a terrible job as chancellor.  This isn't the first time Germany has been on fire recently; citizens have protested the influx of Muslim refugees that are wreaking havoc on their country. She has allowed Germany to be transformed.  If this is a power play on her part, it has already backfired.  100's of German police have been injured.
The German people allowed another Chancellor to arise in order to combat injustices they considered being made against the country.

Watch for them.

Sorry ... mine was a rather long post.

Here's what you missed @XenaLee :  the only reason we are discussing the President's accommodations is because Merkel could not control the violence in her home city ... and was unable to adequately secure the safety of the American First Lady.

Merkel's failure to meet her security obligations made Obama's ef-up into an international story.

If blaming the President and his administration brings a smile to your heart ... who am I to stop you?  Whatever floats your boat.

And again.... having a backup plan and making sure you have accommodations has nothing to do with the protestors.

Oh please.  I have no doubt whatsoever that should His Highness Barack Obama show up in Hamburg and want a room right now, he would get one....or maybe several rooms.

I have a close family member who has been in the hospitality biz for decades.  That is how I was told it works.
