Secret Service faces serious questions about security footprint and rooftop access at Trump event

 In the wake of the attempted assassination of Donald Trump, there are widespread concerns and questions about how a sniper was able to obtain rooftop access roughly 150 meters from the former president’s position at the podium at an outdoor rally.

Sources have described the shooting as coming from the “three o’clock” position of Trump’s podium location, with shots coming from his right side. Seconds after gunfire rang out, Secret Service counter-assault snipers began shooting the suspect who was found on top of a roof.

Notably, the shooter’s location was outside the security perimeter, raising questions about both the size of the perimeter and efforts to sweep and secure the American Glass Research building, and how the shooter was able to obtain rooftop access.

Secret Service will participate in independent review of Trump assassination attempt, director says

The U.S. Secret Service plans to “participate fully” in an independent review of the assassination attempt against former President Trump, Director Kimberly Cheatle said in a statement Monday.

Cheatle said the agency would also work with Congress “on any oversight action” committees plan to take.

“The Secret Service is working with all involved Federal, state and local agencies to understand what happened, how it happened, and how we can prevent an incident like this from ever taking place again,” Cheatle said.

“We understand the importance of the independent review announced by President Biden yesterday and will participate fully. We will also work with the appropriate Congressional committees on any oversight action,” she added.

The statement comes amid mounting questions over how a gunman was able to get close enough to the former president to injure him with an AR-style rifle at Trhump’s Saturday rally – when a bullet grazed Trump’s ear and he was promptly rushed off stage by Secret Service agents.

Uh...I asked a simple, serious question with no agenda.

I've been watching and reading everything I could find about this incident for more than 48 hours now and think I have some idea about what took place. If what I think took place is true, you'll see it only here so pay attention.

The people responsible for this set the young man up to be the patsy (hat tip @jafo2010 ) used him to make sure he drew all the attention while the actual pro was on the roof of the building just behind the one the kid was on wearing attire (rifle and all) that blended with the building. When the kid opened up, the pro took one shot (the one that nearly did the job). When the counter snipers opened up on he kid, the pro slid down from his perch, got in his car, and calmly drove away.

Call me anything you want but that's what I think and it fits the MO.
