BREAKING: Vehicle explosion at Rainbow Bridge closes all WNY border crossing between U.S., Canada

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) – All four international border crossings between the United States and Canada in Western New York were closed Wednesday due to a “vehicle explosion” at the Rainbow Bridge.

The City of Niagara Falls said the incident involved a vehicle attempting to enter the U.S. The FBI Buffalo Field Office termed the incident an explosion.

The Rainbow Bridge connects the cities of Niagara Falls, USA and Niagara Falls, Canada. The bridge is located less than a mile from the world-renowned waterfalls and offers views of the natural wonder.

The Peace Bridge, Lewiston-Queenston Bridge, Whirlpool Bridge, and Rainbow Bridge are all closed in both directions, according to the general manager of the Peace Bridge, Ron Reinas.

I got breaking news alerts and sirens on my iPhone about 10 min ago about this. Weird all the alerts were from European sites.

Now I am getting sirens from the big 4 networks in the States.

Strange.

Here is the latest one. Apparently all 4 borders from the USA and Canada are closed.

Wife and I were there in 2015, went over that bridge (I believe) to go to Canadian Niagara Falls.

BREAKING: High level local police sources tell colleague @AlexisMcAdamsTV that the vehicle explosion at the Rainbow Bridge border crossing in NY was an attempted terror attack w/ a vehicle full of explosives. Two men in car dead. I’m awaiting a response from CBP re: any injuries to their personnel.
