Exactly.  McCarthy lied (and this isn't the first time) and thought that he could get away with it.  Again, either conservatives take back control over the RINO ridden House and Senate or we lose our Republic.

Yes, perhaps this wasn't the best time to make this move and it is disturbing that there are so few true conservatives in the House, but, if not now, then when?  After the can is kicked down the road again???

How are they "winnowed out"?  There are 210 of them, and one of them is now the Speaker pro tem.  All the other leadership positions are the same, so the same folks are still in charge.

And in terms of voters, those folks voted the way they did because they knew they'd be voted out of office if they were responsible for a long shutdown in support of a GOP bill that literally does not exist.  They weren't defying "the voters" by voting for that CR.  They were listening to them.

There is a flip side to this coin.

A new Speaker who is trustworthy embraces the rules that were agreed to in Jan and when dealing with the Rats actually fights for conservative goals. We won't get everything we want, but at least we won't have a knife in our backs.

So what, the pressure is just as much on them to work something out as it is on the House. If the House makes it clear it will only be individual appropriation bills that get sent to them in the end they will negotiate. If they know that on the last minute the House will pass a CR and then an omnibus they won't. You can't force change if you surrender before the fight has started.

Yes fringe.  About a dozen house members think they can just SHUT EVERTHANG DAYOWN and the voters will reward them for bringing chaos into their lives.  Their plans are unrealistic.  What happened today will not lead to a reduction in spending.  It just proves the republicans are less capable of governing than democrats.

Please, stop making excuses for the status quo Republicans who always serve as assistant democrats.  Opposition to the Uniparty is desperately needed.  It won't be easy and it won't be pretty, but it is the key to this nation's survival.

At least try to embrace this fight!
