The source of the allergic reaction has not, that I've seen looking through multiple articles, been made public. It might have been a bee or wasp ... it might have been poison oak (common hereabout along side parks' hiking trails) ... it might have been something in the smoke from wildfires (not sure of locations) that has been in the air here in the Bay Area the past week or two ... there are even a few chefs who have food allergies (though if Chiarello had such an allergy I would expect he had been hyper-aware and -careful).

People do occasionally have allergic reactions to the inert ingredients in vaccines and other injected medications. One of the screening questions CVS and Rite Aid asks before administering a vaccine is whether one has had allergic reactions to vaccines or other injected medications, and that probably is industry standard practice.

Rooties originated at Stein's sports bar, also called Rooties (he closed the restaurant 20 years ago, though he opened another location in Louisville, Kentucky that was open as late as 2017). He created his blue cheese dipping sauce as a complement to his house chicken wings. He since turned to canning the sauce in jars, where it remains sold in supermarkets. Stein earned some national fame during the Bills' Super Bowl runs in the 1990s appearing on daytime television.

Loren Cunningham, Youth With a Mission founder, dies at 88

Loren Cunningham, an author and founder of the prominent Christian youth organization Youth With a Mission, has died from cancer. He was 88.

In an announcement on its Facebook page, YWAM confirmed that Cunningham had died in his sleep at his home in Kona, Hawaii, on Friday in the early morning hours local time.

Cunningham is survived by his wife of 60 years, Darlene, his children, David, Karen and Judy, and three grandchildren, Madi, Kenna and Liam.

According to the obituary posted on his website, Cunningham founded the global missions group YWAM in 1960, which boasts around 2,000 chapters in nearly every country.

YWAM is a somewhat unique missions organization. It does not require seminary or college degrees to be affiliated as a missionary or student. The entry-level training is called "Discipleship Training School", and is a 6 month program. The first 3 months are teaching and counseling in residence at a YWAM base; the remaining 3 months are an outreach, usually to another country. Outreach activities vary, ranging from street preaching to working with a local church to doing construction work at an orphanage, and more.

Loren and his wife (now widow) Darlene were much respected within YWAM, but they were not corks in a bottle, obstructing its growth. They gave people freedom to create specialized ministries, such as Mercy Ships. Now independent, Mercy Ships operates what are basically floating hospitals taking specialized medical care to places where such care is not available.

Walt Garrison, Dallas Cowboys legend, dies at age 79

Walt Garrison was a throwback fullback who used to ride the rodeo circuit as soon as the Dallas Cowboys season ended. And later in his career, he gained fame as a national spokesman for Skoal.

So call Garrison the ultimate cowboy whether he was in season or not for the Dallas Cowboys or earlier, the Oklahoma State Cowboys, where he was a collegiate star. On Wednesday, he died at the age of 79. Pokes Report, which covers Oklahoma State, confirmed the news of his death. The site said Garrison had been residing in a memory care facilitiy in Weatherford, Texas, about a 30-minute drive from where his Cowboys play each Sunday.

Rudolph Isley of The Isley Brothers has died at the age of 84, Fox News Digital can confirm.

"There are no words to express my feelings and the love I have for my brother," Rudolph's brother Ronald told Fox News Digital in a statement. "Our family will miss him. But I know he's in a better place."

The musician's cause of death was not disclosed.

Yeah,it was. He was 84 years old.

People that old are living on borrowed time,and know it. Lots of them are so sick/diseased that death  will come as a relief to them.

Amazingly, the two remaining Isley Brothers are still out there recording new music.

This one (which reached top-30 on the R&B charts) was just released last year. I've never seen a group spend 65 years and still consistently be able to put songs on the charts.

Oscar nominee Piper Laurie, star of ‘Carrie,’ ‘The Hustler,’ dead at 91

Piper Laurie, best known for her role as the incredibly controlling and devout mother in the 1976 horror film “Carrie,” died Saturday. She was 91.

The three-time Oscar nominee’s longtime manager, Marion Rosenberg, told Entertainment Weekly that Laurie was “one of the most remarkable and versatile actresses of her day, a brilliant and creative mind, and a glorious human being.”

She told The Post that Laurie was “one of the great talents of her generation, in addition to being a magnificent human being.”

According to Rosenberg, the actress died of a long, unspecified illness at her home in Los Angeles.

Born Rosetta Jacobs on Jan. 22, 1932, Laurie changed her name after she landed a contract with Universal Studios in 1949.

Thomas “Tommy” Gambino, the oldest son of crime family founder Carlo Gambino, has died.

He was 94.

The longtime Upper East Side resident died Oct. 3 of natural causes.

The New York Times reported in 1992 that the Mafia captain had “at least $75 million in cash, bonds and blue chip stock.”

He was the nephew of “Big Paul” Castellano, who succeeded Carlo as the head of the family but was rubbed out in 1985 on the orders of eventual Gambino godfather John Gotti.

Piper Laurie was probably the best "Scary Mom" ever in Carrie. I read that she actually thought it was comedy. Who knows how creepy it would have been if she had actually acted the way it was intended.

Suzanne Somers, 'Three's Company' and 'Step by Step' Actress, Dead at 76

Somers died on Sunday morning, PEOPLE confirms. She was 76.

“Suzanne Somers passed away peacefully at home in the early morning hours of October 15th. She survived an aggressive form of breast cancer for over 23 years,” Somers’ longtime publicist R. Couri Hay wrote in a statement shared on behalf of the actress’ family.

“Suzanne was surrounded by her loving husband Alan, her son Bruce, and her immediate family,” the statement continued. “Her family was gathered to celebrate her 77th birthday on October 16th. Instead, they will celebrate her extraordinary life, and want to thank her millions of fans and followers who loved her dearly.”

According to Hay, a private family burial will take place this week, and a memorial will be held in November.
